"W-what?" She stutters.

I raise my eyebrow at her.

Okay, yes you got me. I do love her.

I loved her ever since she walked in my front door almost two years ago.

But love is weakness.

And the last thing I can be is weak.

So, I have to be mean. Cruel. Evil.

"You heard me. No, frankly, I don't care what you think. At all."

She just stands there.

Totally, stunned.

"Felix?" She says, confused.

I roll my eyes and step closer to her. She tries to back away so I put my hand in her hair and drag her back to me.

"Listen to me now child. I will marry you as soon as you turn of age. And until then, if I have to keep you locked in this house, with no hope of ever seeing the outside again, then so be it." I say coldly.

Her eyes get wide and tears stream down her cheeks.

Wow, I feel awful.

But this is how it has to be.

"You... You can't.." She says softly.

"I can, I already have."

"My mother said that your family was cruel.. But I didn't believe her... Untill today!" She yells and she runs upstairs.

Wow, harsh.

Me? Too mean? Probably.

Should I tell her how I actually feel? Probably.

Will I? No.

That just, not how things are done.

She can kiss all of her freedom away. Basically forever.

I sigh and sit down in my chair.

Next week I'm supposed to hold the annual ball here too.

Addie is supposed to be at my side, looking beautiful and being obedient.

I guess that's not going to happen.

Maybe I can lure her out with a fancy dress and the promise of good food.

I can see it now.

'Hey Addie, it's me your loving and doting fiancé, and I actually am in love with you but I have terrible people skills and communication skills and I'm really just trying to hold up the reputation of my family, but I really care about you. Here's a dress for the ball that cost way more then any tv or anything, and also here's my undying love and attention'

Yup. That's it. I roll my eyes at myself. She will love me after that, for sure.

I groan and put my head in my hands.

Why does this have to be so hard?

Why can't she just understand. This is the way things have to be.

I get up and go upstairs, passing her room I hear her crying and probably breaking things.

I sigh and continue on to my room.

I go to my closet and look at our ball clothes. I was very excited for this, to be presented as a couple.

Guess that's not happening now.

I had gotten Addison a black mermaid gown, with silver beads down the back. It matched my colors of my suit.

I will probably just host the ball on my own. Addison will likely not venture out of her room because the entire ball will be vampires.

She does not want to admit it, but vampires do scare her.

It would scar her forever if I even brought up biting her.

Literally.
Ha.

I crack myself up.
