Luke Hemmings. Geez, even his name reflected a rockstar. That hotshot was the frontman of the band that dominated hearts of every girl in every town in the world.
Except mine. I was pretty much the most stubborn girl on the planet.
I was dragged to that 5 Seconds of Summer concert by my best friend Gina, who only got tickets as an excuse to guzzle down vodka with other teens and feel guilt-free.
Seat 23, 3rd row. There I was in that open field on a Thursday night wondering how on earth I would explain breaking curfew to my parents. The entire atmosphere was thick with anticipation, wonderment, a sinking feeling in our stomachs like when we went to Red's diner and drank our milkshakes too fast. It was all crammed into the bookshelves lining my brain all at once as I peered through the darkness unafraid.
And that's when our eyes met.
