The young pup whined for milk. She wasn't at her weaning stage on life yet but a few weeks away from such a change to meat and blood from warm milk. She was curled outside the small cave where she was born, alone. The other wolves nearby didn't pay much attention to the small blob. They all thought that its parents would be back soon from hunting. Wolves shared their hunting grounds with the bears and owls. Rarely, they would see an eagle fly past their home, The Starwing.

Snowfire whined louder. Her sealed shut eyes twitched inside her eyelids. One wolf heard the small whines and came to see Snowfire, alone on the cold cave floor under the eclipsed sun.

"Where are your parents small one?" He whispered into her small sealed ear. Snowfire yipped at the sound of another wolf. Finally someone has came for her! The large black wolf grabbed her gently in her jaws and carried her away from the lonely hollow.

"Who's pup is this Skar? Why did you bring it here, you need to put it back so its parents can feed it!" Skar's mate Alyla growled at him, glaring at the fuzzy pup. Alyla's 5 pups were milking, yipping and squeaking joyfully. Snowfire heard their happiness and wanted to join them, so she started to whine again. The Milk Whine is what the wolves of Starwing called it. Skar and Alyla were outflankers in the Staangus clan. Skar got his name by the huge, ridged scar across his face from the War of the Ember. Alyla was a white wolf with blue eyes like crystals in the full moonlight. Skar's eyes were a gleaming yellow with small streaks of red in the center. Their 5 pups were Skila, Kayis, Zan, thginnoom (or thin), and Sparc. Skila was black with a white tip on her tail, Kayis was grey with a splash of white on her face, Zan was a big black wolf with a white streak down his back, Thin was a small wolf with a light grey coat that glistened under the stars, and Sparc was black with white spots on his legs.

Alyla eventually let Snowfire milk with her 5 pups. She didn't feel right feeding a pup who's parents left her in a cave alone. Wouldn't they come back? The only reason one would abandon a pup is from an eclipse. Alyla's eyes grew and her ears perched forwards in the position of alert. Skar saw this.

"What's wrong Alyla?" He asked quietly, trying not to disturb the sleeping furballs.

"I know why she was abandoned. She was born on the last.... e-eclipse.."

Skar dropped his jaw.

"No.Way.That can't be Alyla, her eyes would've been open when i found her and also when her eyes do open, they would be a red with blue in the center." Skar explained to the terrified white wolf.

"I refuse to feed a Eclipolf Skar!" And with that, she grabbed the Eclipolf by the scruff and pulled it away from her running milk Snowfire whined loudly, awaking the other pups.

"Alyla!" Skar exclaimed, putting his paw down firmly on the ground.

"Skar i'm not nursing a cursed pup!" Alyla yelled, making the pups whine louder.

"You don't know for sure Alyla! Her eyes haven't opened yet you can't just assume the worse of every situation." Skar put a paw over his muzzle, realizing what he had just said.

"You're saying i'm doing this in EVERY situation?! I'll have you know that i am most certain that she is a ZEPMINATE!!" Skar gasped at Alyla's language. The pups cried loudly from the loud sounds in the cave.

"SHUT UP KAYIS!!" Alyla screamed, cuffing Kayis on the head hard. The pup squalled and screamed.

"THAT"S ENOUGH ALYLA!!!" Skar roared over the pups, whom gone quiet from the black wolf's thunderous voice. Alyla stared at him in rage.

"If you want to act like a Hedank then i'm taking the pups with me and find a better nursing female." Skar snarled, baring his teeth. Alyla gasped.

"I cannot believe what you just said Skar. If that's the case then take this Zepminate with you." Alyla flung the pup across the cave to Skar, who caught the whelping young wolf. Snowfire opened her eyes. Alyla was paralyzed when she saw the colors of the pups eyes.

Her eyes glowed blue while she stood on her paws, staring at Alyla and her frightened glance.

"You stupid mother wolf. You are NOTHING but a coward with a fur coat. Your pups will grow and regret the nursing mum they had. You name means shame and pity to the land of Starwing. Your pups are coming with me and Skar. Now go wallow in the back on this cave you Sepagrate." Snowfire roared.

Alyla's eyes were running with tears. She took off out of the cave, leaving only 4 pups. She took Sparc and ran into the white world.
