Hey, Adrien here.
I have agreed (read: been forced) to tell this admin, Jaz, about the stories of me and the special girl I've tried to woe, consciously or by accident.
Jaz has there for written those 'oneshots' down for you readers to enjoy. Sinc...
Adrien was screwed, he hadn't meant to let the words escape his lips, but as if they had their own will, they had. His cheeks flushed with embarrassment, while his brain was running on top speed, trying to figure a way out of this.
Meanwhile Marinette stared at him as if he had just told her that he was an alien. Her eyes were wide with shock and her mouth hanging slightly open in a surprisingly cute way.
Time ticked by, and none of them moved. Adrien knew that he had to break this uncomfortable silence soon, before it became too awkward.
"Ops?" He said, before he could think it through, and realize how stupid those words made him sound.
Marinette blinked, as if she was slowly coming to her senses. "Was that a cat pun?" she asked amused.
He scratched his neck nervously, sending her a shy smile. "I may or may not have an unhealthy amusement with those."
And then to his big surprise Marinette laughed, a so deep and innerly laughter, that it made her clutch her own stomach. "God," she gasped, out of breath from laughing, "since when did boys think it was attractive to make cat puns?"
Adrien stared at her, slightly taken aback. Partly because of her sudden mode shift, but also because of her openly critical of him, something he had never heard before. But that was what friends did to each other, right? And that meant that they were friends, right?
Okay to be honest, he was still in doubt with that. Yes, it could be he thought of her as a friend, and that they had seen her in a bra, and that they had fallen asleep on each other. But this was a clear sign she looked at him as a friend.
"Cat puns are attractive," he huffed, sending her a wink.
Marinette's head instantly turned red, and Adrien realized he might have gone a little overboard with the wink. "T-the-they are not!" she stuttered out.
"They're catastic," he insisted, a smirk forming on his lips.
Marinette snorted, her face still redder than Ladybug's mask. "The only 'catastic' thing here is that nobody have died of a heart attack after hearing your puns."
He pouted, instantly feeling at ease, being used to people (aka. Ladybug) teasing him about his puns. "Oh yeah? You know what I think?" he leant close on her, until their faces were only few centimeters away from each other. "I think you are jalouse."
Marinette stared at him, her bell blue eyes wide and her mouth opening and closing, as if she was unable to come up with an answer. Up this close he could feel her warm breath slashing against his skin, and if he leant a bit closer, their lips would crash. "Cat got your tongue?" he asked, his voice coming out more as a whisper.
Her brows got knitted, and her lips twisted upwards in a small smile. "You remind me so much of Chat Noir when you do that," she muttered, and if he hadn't been standing so close on her, he wouldn't have been able to hear it.
Adrien plastered on a grin, scolding himself for even letting Marinette make that connection. "Aw, I'm flattered that you think I'm like Chat Noir, but sadly for you, I don't run around in spandex when I'm not in school."
Oh dam, Adrien thought, that hadn't sounded Adrien like either. But the words had left his mouth and there was nothing he could do to take them back.
Marinette let out a giggle, less red in her head now, and pushed him away. "You're such a big joker, Adrien."
Adrien let out a laugh of relief, "Well at least I ain't a big joke."
"Of course you aren't," Marinette assured, before she once again turned red, and Adrien silently wondered if the girl was able to say anything to him without doing that. "But don't worry, I can keep your secret." she said with a wink.
His secret?
Worry instantly filled Adrien. What secret was she talking about? The one about him being Chat Noir? Had she really figured it out that fast?
He silently took a deep breath, trying to remain calm and collected. "What secret?"
"The one about you being a big dork." Marinette said with a smirk, and left him standing back astonished and delivered. Since when did Marinette make fun of him? And had she always looked so cute from behind?
