It's been a week since I left New Orleans. My dad was not paying me and Prince any attention. I'm so mad and piss because it's my birthday. So I might as well call my mom back and tell her to pick me up or send me a plane ticket. "Laura" Prince walk in my room.

"Yes Prince" I roll my eyes.

"You ok" he sat on the bed with me.

"It's my birthday today and we not doing anything today for it" I roll my eyes getting up.

"Let's take a trip down memory lane"

"Where we going" I grab my purse.

"We going somewhere special" he grab my hand. We walk out the house. We started walking down the streets of Philly looking at the murals. I love looking at these murals. They speak life. Show life. "Having fun"

"Yeah walking around is fun" we both laugh.

"I know but, I have to leave to college next week" I frowned.

"Where to" I ask. He sigh.

"In Canada" Canada?

"Why so far" I whined like a baby.

"Because, I want to be far and explore, away from mom" he said.

"And me" I said.

"No, just away from everything" he sigh. "Ima miss you"I hug him.

"Me too, I love you" he kiss me on my forehead. "Come on let's go home"

"I don't call dad place home, it's hell" Prince laugh at me.

When me and Prince walk in, i heard dad talking to someone. "Mhmm baby I love you" I heard him say.

"Dad" I said. The girl jump looking at me. Prince just shook his head.

"Oh, kids this is my girlfriend" he said.

"Kate" she shook my hand and shook prince hand.

"Your my dad girlfriend" she nod her head. She looked young.

"Your young" I said. Kate chuckle sitting back down by my dad.

"Anyways I have a surprise for you" my dad got up and walk to the back.

"I hope it's a puppy" I said. He came back with a box.

"Here" I open it and saw my old pic of me and him.

"Thanks dad, the best present I ever had"I hug him.

"Me next" Kate said. She put this box on the table.

"What is it" I look over it.

"Open it" I open and seen the shoes I always wanted. Yezzys.

"Omg, Kate thank you so much" I hug her. She smile at me.

"What about you Prince" my dad said. Prince shrugged his shoulders.

"He already gave me my birthday gift" I smile at him.

"What is that"

"The murals" I said smiling.

"That's so sweet prince" Kate said.

"Thanks, dad can we talk alone please" my dad nod his head. They walk to the living room.

"So how is high school" Kate ask.

"It's cool" I frowned thinking about Odell.

"What's wrong"

"I'm in love with this boy, but he doesn't like me back"

"Oh is he one of them boys that don't recognize you" she said.

"No, we're are best friends but he have a girlfriend" I frowned again.

"Well what I will do, is change myself sometimes like your hair, your face"I felt my face.

"My face" kate nod her head.

"Yes you have bump and black heads there and there, and your style, look like a white girl" did she called me a white girl?

"Uhhh"

"Look all I'm saying is to make yourself prettier for him" I thought about it and nod my head. I always been pretty to Odell but I guess she's right.
