Chapter 6:
Martin and Brandon woke up tied to chairs in a dark room. There were Craftians standing around them with weapons in their hands. As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, they noticed their own Warrior friends standing further back in the shadows, also with weapons.
"What the fuck is going on?!" Martin exclaimed.
Sparky turned to the Craftians. "Can you guys leave for a minute so we can talk to them?"
"Alright," Adam said. All the Craftians exited the room, leaving just the Warriors.
Brandon sat up in his chair and began to say, "What the balls guys? Why are you--"
"We're about to explain that," Mitch said. He looked to the others. "...Who wants to explain it?"
They were quiet for a second, then Dakota sighed and said, "I guess I will. We've kinda teamed up with those nine Craftians to stop the war before either of our islands get destroyed. We're trying to plan on what to do. We need all the help we can get, and we were wondering if you two would join our group...?"
Martin and Brandon exchanged looks. "But if Reese finds out, we're all dead!" Brandon said.
"Then we'll just have to be extra careful around her," said Kylie.
"She already suspects something," Brandon mumbled.
Sparky began to untie them, saying, "Fine then. We'll just convince her that nothing's up. Simple as that. So are you two idiots in, or not?"
Jerome drew his diamond axe. "You don't really have a choice."
"Okay, we're in."
They brought the Craftians back in and got to work on their plan for stopping the war.
---
Reese stood under the same tree on the edge of Waria with her brother and waited for Martin and Brandon. Where were they? Normally, they'd be there before her.
"Where do you think they are?" she asked Xander. He shrugged. "What if they're with the others now?"
"We should go look for them, then," Xander suggested.
Reese exhaled. "How much you wanna bet they're in Craftia?" She turned to face Xander.
Xander raised an eyebrow. "I doubt they're in Craftia. Ten bucks."
"Twenty."
"Fifteen."
"You afraid of losing?"
He sighed and looked at the ground, then back up at her. "Fine, twenty."
She smiled and picked up her new katana from where it rested against the tree. Xander grabbed his new machete and followed his sister to Craftia.
In Craftia, every person who saw them looked terrified. And that's just how Reese liked it. As they walked through the streets, she went up to a woman and asked, "Have you seen a group of Warriors around here?"
"Why should I tell you?" the woman said.
"Trying to act tough, huh?" Reese drew her sword and held it to the woman's throat. "This is why you should tell me."
She hesitated, and Reese began to slowly press the sword to her throat. "I saw them go to the north side of the island. They told me not to tell anyone."
Reese smirked and lowered her sword just as blood began to trickle down the woman's neck. "Thank you." She and Xander walked away.
"You should've just killed her," Xander said when they were far enough from the woman.
"It's funny when they're scared though," Reese told him. "Killing them for no reason isn't as fun."
She stopped and looked at him. "Which reminds me, there's still a certain group of people I need to kill. Kylie fucking helped them escape the room I set on fire to burn them alive."
"How are you gonna kill them all? You didn't bring anything but your sword," Xander said.
She chuckled and said, "I brought you, didn't I? You're gonna help me."
"...Alright."
They continued going north, and stopped at a trader. "Hey you," Reese said to the man standing behind a counter at a trading stand.
"Y-yes?" he said nervously, obviously afraid of the two Warriors.
"Have you seen a group of seven warriors around here?" she asked him.
He sighed. "Yes."
"Where are they?" She leaned forward on the counter, and he backed up.
"D-down the road. I think I saw them enter someone's home," he said, backing up all the way to the wall.
"Address?"
He gave her the address. Satisfied, she and Xander left the trader. Down the road, they stopped in front of the house she was told they were at. "Should I kick down the door, or go ninja and sneak up on them?"
"Ninja," Xander said, smirking.
They both pulled their masks up on their faces and drew their swords. They circled around to the back of the house and jumped through an open window. Inside, there wasn't anyone on the main floor, but they heard voices in the basement, familiar voices.
Reese picked the basement door's lock with a hair pin she always carried around. The two silently made their way down the stairs.
There was a group of people standing around a table with a map of Waria spread out. Seven of those people were Reese's friends. But the other nine were Craftians. Specifically the nine Craftians that should've burned to death in the room she lit on fire.
Reese pulled Xander behind another table in the dark corner beside the stairs. She peeked over the table, the looked at Xander. "So here's what we're gonna do..."
