Ivypool woke up due to the sunlight filtering in the dens. She yawned, standing up and stretching. Her eyes lit up. MS was going to come around and choose the cats today. She looked around the Warriors den. It was empty, had she slept in. Ivypool ran out of the den to see the Clan gathered around the Highledge where Firestar perched. Dovewing was listening to everything from inside the nursery.

"I know none of you like this, but we have to get used to it," Firestar meowed.

"We need to do something about this, we can't just let some random rogue take the Clans over!" Squirrelflight growled.

Ivypool just sighed and walked over to Dovewing. Dovewing's ears twitched.

"What is it? Do you hear something?" Ivypool asked.

Her sister nodded. "I've been listening to MS pick cats this whole time."

"Who has he chosen?"

"Breezepelt from WindClan, Tigerheart of ShadowClan, and Beetlewhisker of RiverClan." Dovewing listed.

"All Dark Forest cats?" Ivypool questioned.

Dovewing opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by a cat appearing on the Highledge next to Firestar.

"I've come to choose the cat that will report to me every seven days," MS announced.

A couple of the Clan cats seemed eager, including Ivypool. Dovewing stepped back into the nursery, and Firestar looked at his Clan. MS scanned the crowd of cats, his two white eyes showing no emotion.

"Ivypool."

Ivypool gasped. Me?

"From today onwards, you will report to me at the Gathering Island every seven sunrises. Seven sunrises from now is the start of that cycle."

MS disappeared, leaving Ivypool shocked. Firestar looked at her.

"Congratulations, Ivypool," he meowed to her.

Ivypool just looked up at him, her eyes wide. Dovewing had poked her head out of the nursery, and was staring at her sister. Firestar jumped down from the Highledge, signalling that the meeting was over. Cats were murming to each other, casting glances at Ivypool every now and then. Ivypool shook her head, trying to clear it, and walked over to Dovewing.

"I don't like this, Ivypool. I still don't trust him," Dovewing fretted.

"Well I trust him, Dovewing, it'll be fine," Ivypool reassured her sister. "I'm gonna go hunting."

"Just be careful, please Ivypool," Dovewing pulled her head back inside the nursery.

Ivypool ran through the entrance of the camp. She ran full speed to the lake, stopping just before she reached the water. Gentle waves lapped at her paws. The sun made the lake glistened, and Ivypool could see the Gathering Island in the distance. She made her way around the lake, and was almost there before a WindClan cat stopped her.

"What are you doing on our territory?"

Ivypool looked around to see Breezepelt confronting her.

"There are no territories, remember?" Ivypool shot back at him.

Breezepelt's tail lashed back and forth.

"That doesn't mean you can go wherever you want!"

"Did you even listen to what our new leader said? Now let me go where I planned to go."

Ivypool walked off, leaving Breezepelt there to glare at her. She sighed, and continued running by the shore of the lake. She had reached the Gathering Island quicker than she thought she would. She carefully crossed the treebridge, going at a somewhat normal pace to make sure she didn't slip. When she reached the other side, she jumped off and ran into the clearing. She looked around, trying to see if there was any sign of MS around. She didn't see anything, but she felt like she was being watched. She shook her pelt out.

"Hello, Ivypool."

Ivypool looked up at the huge tree, where MS stood on a branch. His usually white pupils were now blue eyes, that of a normal cats. Except they were brighter, more alive.

"Why have you come to see me?"

Ivypool looked at the sky. It was sun high. Why have I come to see him? MS teleported in front of her, causing her to leap back.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. Is there any particular reason you came here?" MS asked again.

Ivypool opened her mouth to speak, but no words came.  Then she thought of a reason why.

"I want to get to know you better, to convince the other cats to trust you," Ivypool stated.

"What a kind thing to do, but do not worry, I've already planned a little meet up so one cat from every Clan can spread the word about me."

"Oh."

A long stretch of silence engulfed them, making Ivypool uncomfortable. MS seemed to be enjoying it though. He broke the silence after what seemed like forever.

"Go back to your Clan, they're going to need you. Be ready tonight, don't go to sleep late," then he disapeared.

Ivypool looked around, but saw no sign of the strange tom. She just shook her head and crossed back over the treebridge. She quickly made her way around the lake, and caught a few mice before heading back to camp. She dropped the prey on the fresh kill pile, and walked over to the nursery. Ivypool peaked her head in to see Dovewing sleeping in her nest. She purred and pulled her head it. The sun was going down. Already?

She made her way to the Warriors' den, and settled down in her nest.

Don't go to sleep late.
