I ran down the hall right behind Dr. James. I let him go first knowing he had to be the one to go in. When I finally reached the door Alice quickly grabbed me. At first I thought she was going to make me leave the room, but she didn't. She held and told he was going to be okay in my ear. I wanted to believe her.

I watched as nurses hurried around Kendall. One nurse was pressing her hands against Kendall's now opened chest. I could see where they ripped the new shirt I had on him. I liked the shirt, but I'm not too worried about that right now. She would do that for some time and then let go, letting another nurse put a mask on him to help him breathe. They did that until Dr. James walked over with paddles in his hands.

"Charge to 200." he said, pressing them together.

"Charge to 200." one of the nurses called back.

"CLEAR!" Dr. James shouted, pressing the paddles to parts of Kendall's chest. Kendall jolted, but nothing happened.

"Charge to 260." Dr. James said.

"Charge to 260." the nurse called back.

"CLEAR!" Dr. James shouted again while again pressing the paddles to parts of his chest. Again Kendall jolted, but nothing happened.

"Charge to 400." Dr. James said.

"Charge to 400." the nurse called back.

"CLEAR!" Dr. James shouted before once again pressing the paddles to Kendall. Once again Kendall jolted, but nothing happened. "I'm calling it."

"Time of death. 2:55pm."
