Castiel woke up to vigorous shaking and a voice yelling, "It's time to get up! C'mon, lazy bones!"
Castiel groaned in annoyance and swatted the hands away, causing the voice to whine, "Duuude, get uuuuuupp..."
Sighing through his nose in exasperation, he mumbled, "Fine..."
Castiel reluctantly pushed himself up into a sitting position, and he rubbed his eyes to try to get rid of their bleariness. When he opened them, he saw Taeo standing at the foot of his bed, a smile on his face.
He glanced around the room for a moment, his mind blank as to where he was before he remembered. The five of them had gone on an assignment together, and drove back home. He was now sleeping in his room with the door locked. Well, he was before Taeo somehow busted his way in and woke him up.
"What is it, Taeo?" he asked, grogginess still in his voice.
Taeo rubbed the back of his neck with a smile as he replied, "Siel wanted to see you in the office ASAP, so I volunteered to wake you up."
"All right," Castiel sighed. He stretched his back, making it pop, as he breathed, "Tell Siel that I will be out momentarily."
"Okay!" Taeo exclaimed cheerfully as he turned around and rushed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Castiel sighed again because he was sure that Taeo just woke everyone in the house up.
Castiel slid out of bed and walked over to his closet. He slipped off his white tank top and shorts, exchanging them for a pair of jeans and a light blue t-shirt. After quickly brushing his hair and his teeth, he stepped outside of his room.
The sun was peeking through the window, the birds were chirping, and the glass on the window held small droplets of water. Castiel walked through the kitchen and living room and shuffled over to the office. He knocked on the door and waited for a few seconds before it opened to reveal the group's leader. He wore a simple red t-shirt with khaki pants.
"Good morning, Castiel! Please come in," Siel greeted with a smile as he held the door open.
Castiel sent him a small smile as well as he stepped into the rather large room. He sat down at the small table that was on one side of the room. Siel went to the tiny fridge underneath his desk and got out a Dr. Pepper before offering one to Castiel-who politely declined.
Popping the can open, Siel took a sip of his drink before he began, "I was meaning to give this assignment to you yesterday, but since that urgent one came up I had to put this aside. So, I'm going to give it to you now."
Siel produced a file and lightly tossed it onto the table in front of Castiel, who picked the folder up and opened it.
"Multiple witness accounts claimed to have seen a man around the age of 20 to 25 with wings."
Castiel's eyes widened. Could this be one of my brothers or sisters? he thought.
Siel continued, "One witness account was at a local gas station, another at a grocery store, and yet another at a park. There was one witness account in a bar, but you can never be too sure of that. However, all of these accounts-including the one in the bar-seem to be in close proximity of this neighborhood here."
He pointed to the red circle that was on a map in the folder Castiel was holding. It was in the middle of a bunch of little red stars, which indicated where the witness accounts were.
"From the information Asuka and I gathered, we can guess that the suspect lives in this address," Siel said as he pointed to an address that was circled on the paper. "I want you to check it out tonight. If you can confirm our suspicions, you may take him out. Just make sure you do so silently."
Castiel nodded and stood, "Okay. I'll leave tonight right before it gets dark."
~Timeskip~
Castiel was dressed in his assassin uniform with the hood pulled up, and he crouched behind some bushes across the street from his target's house address. He had been observing the house for a few hours now, but he had yet to see his target's face. All he had seen was the back of his head, or a silhouette of him behind some blinds. He clutched his angel blade tighter.
Just when he thought there was no mission here, he finally had the proof to confirm Siel's suspicions. The man's back was turned to him when he let his wings become visible. Something, however, wasn't quite right... Then it hit him. He should recognize those wings anywhere!
Those were Castiel's wings.
His wings were stolen from him.
Castiel growled and stood from his previously hidden position. He watched silently as the lights turned off one by one. When all the lights were out, he rushed across the street to his target's house. He slunk his way to the back of the house where he found a door. After picking the lock, he stepped inside the house and quietly closed the door behind him.
His knuckles were white from gripping his angel blade so tightly. He would kill this man. He would kill this man and get his wings back!
Scowling, Castiel tiptoed through the house, searching every room. He walked through the kitchen and turned to his left to go down a hallway. He looked into the door that was on his right and saw a guest bedroom. He continued down the dark corridor. Looking into the door on the left, he saw what he was looking for. His target.
His wings.
Castiel crept into the room and raised his angel blade, poised and ready to strike. He quietly shuffled to the side of the bed and grabbed the covers. He silently counted to three before he ripped the sheets away and went to stab the figure...
Only pillows were in the bed.
Suddenly he was tackled from behind onto the bed. He managed to struggle and turn over so that his back was against the bed. Hands gripped his wrists tightly and pinned them to the bed.
Growling, Castiel managed to flip their positions so that he was the one on top of his target. He quickly shifted so that he was sitting on his target's torso and pinning his target's arms down with his knees.
Castiel raised his blade to strike, but suddenly his hood was removed and he was able to see the face of his target.
Bright green eyes that held a certain fire in them stared back at him. The male had dark blonde spiked hair and freckles on his face. He was beautiful.
The two of them were breathing heavily, and the man gave him a glare as he asked, "Who are you? Why are you spying on me and trying to kill me?"
His voice was gruff yet held a certain smoothness in it. It was unlike anything he had ever heard. It was very...angelic.
Castiel snorted silently. Yeah, right. This man, however, is far from an angel!
Castiel said nothing as he stared at the handsome man for a moment before scrambling off of him. He quickly fled the room and rushed out of the house.
Behind the bushes once again, he stared at the man's house from afar. He was given an order to kill him...
So why didn't he?
