BRUCE'S POV

"What about Ava?" I asked, hoping this name would strike her mind as much as it did mine.

"God, no. There was this bitch named Ava in my middle school, she would pull my hair all the time. Hated her." Diana replied, biting her lips. Maybe a flash of painful childhood memories shuffled through her mind.

"How about Giselle?" I asked again with a little bit of hope. "It's a cute name?"

"No! Definitely not Giselle." She folded her arms.

"What's wrong with that?" I asked.

"I had a hamster named Giselle." She replied.

"So?"

"Well she died. It was a bad time."

I sighed.

"Is there any name that hasn't harmed you in any way?" I asked pissed at this rate. We had been going over this for quite some time but there seemed to be no end.

"Don't tell me that, even you have names you hate." She pointed out.

And she was right. My list was a lot longer than hers.

"Why are we discussing girl names? It could be a boy, we don't know yet." Diana pointed out.

"We will know it by the end of the day, besides I'm pretty sure she's going to be a girl." I cleared my throat.

"It's going to be a boy." She replied. "Did you just refer to our baby as 'she'?"

"Well that's because she is going to be a she." I laughed kissing Diana on the forehead.

"What if it's going to be a boy? Are you not going to love him?" She asked.

"Of course I'm going to love him. I'm going to love our kid whether it's a he or she. What I mean is I always pictured me, you our two kids. Eldest one's a daughter- beautiful and brave just like her mother and the youngest one is a son, rather weird and smart like me, but he's our son." I explained causing Diana to laugh.

"When did you seriously picture all this?" She asked pausing after a while.

"I don't know, years back? I don't remember it all well but it was one of our dates. We talked so much that day and you got all tipsy and flirty and it was still cute. I would listen to you for minutes, hours but I never could be done being with you. I just looked at you and I just thought you know, I'm going to marry this woman. I don't know when, I don't know how but I'm going to do it." I replied.

Diana stood silent for a moment. Maybe she was surprised because I never told her any of this before. Or it seemed too much to process considering how things were going for us. We were having a kid together but we weren't married or even showed the slightest interest to it. Maybe now that I told her all about it, maybe she expected me to propose to her?

"I love you. You know that don't you?" She asked her hands reaching for my cheeks.

I nodded at her and she smiled.

Sometimes embracing the silence after those three words were the most amazing things in the world.
