A/N: Jessica's texts are in italics and the boy's are in bold

We exchange numbers, decide on a place to meet, and go our separate ways. Kim and I walk over to Mexico before stopping to look at the small shop. While I am inspecting a small stuffed animal I feel my phone vibrate from inside my pocket. I glance at Kim to make sure she isn't looking and slip out my phone.

Kim always complains when I go on my phone while on vacation. She says that vacation is when you are supposed to be free from technology and interact with actual humans, but in all actuality she just gets annoyed because she feels left out. Her mother isn't going to allow her to have a phone until she is in ninth grade, and even then it will probably be a flip phone.

I scroll through my twenty notifications quickly, but stop short as one catches my eye. Its the boy's kik account and he has apparently already sent me a message. I open it up, and shudder. He has such bad grammar it burns my eyes! I cringe, but read the message anyways.

forgot to tell u me name and make a meet place. Where do ya wanna meet?

Well, my friend and I are going to go to test track at noon, so we can meet around one outside the exit.

Sounds good to me, and the name is Sam btw

okay, but don't expect me to give you my name, I don't feel like having a possible stalker

Now why would I stalk you?

I don't know, but I'm not taking that risk. I have heard way too many stories on the news.

Wait, you watch the news?

Sometimes I do

That's really weird

Before I get the chance to respond my phone is plucked from my hands and I find myself looking at a glaring Kim. I roll my eyes as she starts complaining as usual.

"Are you even listening to me?" she cries softly hitting me on the arm.

"No, not really. Can we go now, we have ten minutes to get to test track and we should probably get there early." I say taking my phone and walking away. She follows after me and soon we arrive at test track.

When we get there Steven and Bryce are waiting for us by one of the thousands of rails. They each have a mickey pretzel and a soda with them, and they are texting their friends on their phones. As we approach Steven puts his phone away and starts up a conversation with Kim, but Bryce just continues to text away oblivious to the world around him.

My mother and father arrive in around two minutes and we all head towards the little machines that read our fast past arm-bands. I go in after Kim and start asking her questions about how she wants the car to look, but she is only half paying attention to me seeing as how Steven is also talking to her. We finally get into the room where you design your car and Kim says that she doesn't care what it looks like as long as it is black and has flames on it. We both laugh remembering how last time we tried giving the car flames it said it had them, but then it actually rejected them.

We go through another line before we get to the ride, but we make it there and Kim nudges me remarking on how it was nice this time and didn't completely ruin our design. We ended up losing to Bryce and Steven's car, but it was still fun and I was glad we tried.

"Hey Jess, guess who we're going to meet now?" Kim says wiggling her eyebrows.

"Oh shut up will you," I say pushing her into the rails. She laughs pushing me back and we run out to meet Sam.
