Night at the Hotel

After around a thousand hours, and ten bathroom breaks, later we're in Georgia. We always spend a night in a small hotel on our way to Disney. This makes it easier on my dad's bad back and gives us a chance to get out of the cramped space. We pull into a Holiday Inn and pile out of the van. We stand in an empty parking spot for a couple of minutes, stretching our sore limbs, before taking a small amount of luggage and awkwardly walking inside. I plop down in a chair, as my mom orders two rooms, and Kim plops down on top of me.

"What are you doing? Get off of me!" I snap attempting to push her off.

"All the chairs are full, and I want to sit!" she whines.

"Do I look like I care?"

   "I don't know, I can't see you."

"Well I don't, so get off!"

"Where do you suppose I sit then?"

"I don't know, somewhere where no one is seated!"

"But, I'm too lazy to get up!" she complains putting even more weight on me.

"Girls, get up, our rooms are ready!" my mother calls from her spot in front of the elevator.

  "I'm too tired!" Kim cries.

"Well nobody gets to go to their rooms until you get up, so you are going to have to deal with the boys," she says finding herself a seat.

"Kim, get off you lazy butt before I make you!" Steven warns her.

"Make me!" she says stubbornly right back.

"Maybe I will!" I hear Steven say as he gets too close to us for me to see around Kim.

"You'll have to carry me, and I don't think you want to do that," she says relaxing.

"Jess, about how much does she weigh?"

"You wouldn't dare!" she snaps as I smirk and answer his question. Suddenly she is lifted off of me and I burst out laughing as my brother carries her in his arms like a bride. Kim is clutching her arms around his neck for dear life and muttering something about how she doesn't trust him. He laughs, looks down at her, and whispers something that makes her loosen her grip  a little bit.

A hand is offered to me by Bryce and I take it smiling. He helps me off the chair then walks ahead of me to the elevator. My mother pushes the button and after a few seconds the contraption arrives and the doors hiss open. We all pile inside and as we rise I watch the cars pass on the street from the glass  protecting us from falling to our deaths. The scene calms me and I find myself drifting into a daydream.

"Jessie, this is us!" I hear someone say pulling me back into the torturous reality. I turn around and slip into the dim hallway, of course we get the terrifying floor. Bryce notices my nervousness and quietly laughs to himself.

"Hey, its not my fault I have common sense that is telling me to turn around and run!" I snap at him before walking up next to my mom.

"Hey, why aren't you with Kim?" she asks shifting her bags.

"She's being carried by Steven still," I shrug.

"Seriously? He always refuses to do anything for anyone, what's going on with him?"

I shrug and after another minute of walking we stop in front of room number 2009, I hear Kim shriek something about Dan and Phil before being shushed by my parents. I bounce up and down on the balls of my feet waiting to be let in so that I may finally sleep in a comfortable bed and just get off my sore feet. I may have been standing for only a little while, but because of how tired I am it feels like it has been a million years. My mother tells the boys what room they will be in and sends them off before opening the door to our own room.

"Bed, glorious bed!" Kim whisper screams, plopping down on the first bed she comes to.

"Shower first, then you can sleep," mother says hitting her with a pillow.

We both groan, but agree since we know there is no other option. I gather my things and head into the bathroom to take my shower first. I stand in the warm water for a couple minutes letting the heat lull me to sleep. I shake my head, reminding myself to stay awake so Kim can get a shower too and quickly get out.

I slip into bed as Kim slips into the bathroom and start thinking about tomorrow. We will arrive at Disney and eat actual good food! I can't wait to go around Disney and stroll around the park. Eventually I drift off to the sound of the running water, and find myself wrapped in my dreams.

I'm walking down a crowded street on a bright sunny day. The smell of freshly baked goodies are emitted from a near shop. I peer above the crowd and search for an identifying landmark. I smile brightly as I find myself staring at the large, blue, Cinderella castle of Disney World. I hear a soft chuckle as someone grabs my hand. I don't recognize this laugh though, so I look at the stranger grabbing my hand and instantly pull back as it is some strange guy. He looks hurt and confused but lets my hand drop. His face recovers from his hurt expression and he leads me to a snack stand. I hesitantly follow the boy, and he buys me a mickey mouse dove ice cream bar, my favorite. We walk along the street eating our ice cream and making jokes.

I take in everything about this guy's appearance and find myself in awe. I have never seen anyone so perfect in real life. His hair reflects the sun in just the right way and his eyes are like a big blue ocean. I don't know him, but I know that I never want to have to leave him. I feel a special connection to him that I have never felt with anyone before and my breath catches in my throat when he looks at me.

We get in a line to ride Splash Mountain, and when I admit to him that I hate the big drop he hugs me and tells me that e promises that he won't let me be scared. We joke around in the line and it makes it feel like its going ten times faster, but when we finally get to the front I grab on to the back of his shirt in fear. He chuckles softly, but turns around to comfort me. I let him pick which lane we got in and he chose the very first one. The ride goes smoothly I am relaxed ,until I see the warning signs. He faces me and just as we start to tip down the huge drop he grabs my face and...

I wake up to the bright sun being thrown in my face as my mother opens the blinds. I feel Kim roll over in her spot next to me on the bed to avoid the sun, but my mother makes us get up.

"Wakey, wakey girls! Its time to get up!" she says coming over to us. We both groan in response and hide our faces wanting to sleep just  little bit longer. I feel a pillow connect with my body as my mother starts to pound us in an attempt to wake us up. This continues for a few minutes before I finally get up and go to the bathroom.

I stare at myself in the mirror as I try to recall my dream. It was such a nice ream, but it is slipping away from me quickly. I'm shocked by how vivid it was though, the smells were crisp and the feelings were so real. I know that it could never happen though, I'm ace after all, and I don't have feelings for someone, let alone fall in love with them.

With that I splash water on my face and walk out of the bathroom watching my mother, who is still trying to get Kim out of bed, pick up another pillow to use. I sit down on the couch and Kim finally gets up. We eat a quick breakfast in the lobby before leaving and heading to the place where dreams come true. The question is, will Disney make my dream come true, and if it does, is he really going to be as perfect as I imagined him?
