With the light streaming through the windows I stroked Jennifer’s arm as she slept in mine. She had a small tattoo of a dolphin on her shoulder which I used to kiss and gave it a gentle kiss before rolling out of bed to check on Grace. When I got back Jennifer had got up and was using the shower. I wondered how she was going to act like around me today. Throwing on some grey joggers and nothing else I slumped down the stairs and began making breakfast for everyone.

“Morning!” She said cheerfully, pecking me on the lips gently as she went past. I smiled at the gesture, but I was confused as to what had changed inside her. When she was washing an apple I glanced behind me and saw that she was wearing some tight black skinny jeans which complimented her figure perfectly, with a white tank top which showed her tattoo. I smiled at the memory of when she got it done.

“You’re being such a pussy!” Jennifer said to me as the artist began his work on my shoulder again. I giggled at the feel of it and squeezed her hand.

“I love you!” I slurred, making sure I was looking in her eyes and not at her amazing figure. She rolled her eyes and leant down next to me so she was looking into my eyes.

“I really hope you regret this tomorrow morning!” She smiled before kissing my lips gently.

“Right, you’re done!” The guy said sternly, clearly annoyed with all the fuss I’d made about it. I nodded to him and got up letting Jennifer take it.

“Oh, Hazzaaaa!” Louis said loudly, jumping over to us with his wedding finger bandaged. I threw my t-shirt over my head and looked at Louis has he slurred his words. “This is… is.. Jennifer’s not crying. You know your girlfriend is showing you up!” Louis grinned, swaying a little from the influence of alcohol. I punched him in the arm and turned back to Jennifer who was laughing at Samantha. Samantha too had her wedding finger bandaged up but I didn’t ask them what they had had done.

I looked down at Jennifer and felt the butterflies in my stomach flip. Everyone said when they thought that Jennifer looked like Megan Fox which annoyed her. But not me. When I looked at Megan Fox I thought of fake and unnatural beauty. Jennifer, though having similar hair styles, was nothing like Megan Fox, she had perfect porcelain skin with a wide and bright smile. She had large bright blue eyes which shone. The thought of Megan Fox did nothing for me. The thought of Jennifer was enough to make my heart race.

“Harry?” I heard Jennifer say. I’d seen her lips moving but I’d not registered her voice.

“Sorry.” I said, suddenly feeling very drunk. I shook my head and took her hand as she stood up. “Your done already?” I asked her, shocked at the length of time it had taken for me to be done.

“Yes, some of us are really good customers!” Louis joked, punching me in the arm, which I wasn’t really expecting. Jennifer pulled her dress up and took my hand again.

“Louis, you know that really hurt!” I said sternly to him, stomping off and out of the door pretending to be annoyed. Jennifer laughed loudly and pulled my arm a little as she exited the building. My body turned towards her and pulled her close. She looked into my eyes and began playing with my hair bring her head closer to mine.

“I love you.” She whispered before looking down at my lips. I bit them lightly watching as her eyes flicked up to meet mine. “I want to go home now.” She whispered before kissing me passionately.

“I’ll see you tomorrow for recording..” Louis shouted from the other side of the road. I said nothing but waved my hand at him, hearing him laugh as he walked away.

I turned my head to look at Jennifer, taking in her beauty. She hadn’t changed much. Her hair was a little longer and she tended to wear red lipstick more now, but she didn’t need make up. She was the most beautiful in the morning.

“Harry!” She laughed. “You’re burning them!” He said, running to the saucepan and throwing the burnt pancake in the bin. I sighed and let her take over. She giggled, turning her head to face me a few times as she waited for the pan cakes to cook. I liked having her here with me to keep me company. Whilst she flipped a pan cake I glanced down at her body, admiring how well kept it was. “Hey, eyes up here big guy!” She giggled, running her fingers up my chest to push my chin up. I smiled at her and blushed. Picking up a sharp knife I began cutting up some apples for the fruit salad. “I like having you around.” She said out of the blue. “It keeps my mind off of.. off of them.” She said, backtracking a little. I looked over and smiled again.

“You have the opposite effect on me.” I said, leaning on the counter. She threw me a confused face and flipped a pan cake. “Every time I see you a memory of them comes flooding through my brain.” She thought about it and put more of the batter in the pan. I turned around and began cutting up more fruit.

Suddenly her hands were sliding around me waist and she kissed my tattoo like she used to.

“Do you remember when you cried when you got it done?” She asked me quietly, resting her chin on my shoulder. I nodded but said nothing. “Louis and I made a bet on you.” I turned around to face her but her hands remained around my waist.

“And what was that?” I asked her, raising my eyebrows at her. She smiled brightly and giggled.

“He thought you wouldn’t want a dolphin.” She replied, her finger tracing the outline of the tattoo.

“But you thought I would?”

“I hoped you wouldn’t chicken out. I like the thought of sharing something with you.” She smiled and walked to flip the pancake.

“A dolphin though, couldn’t it have been a tiger or.. or.. something?”

“Well, I would have been up for doing what they had done.” She said in a matter of fact tone.

I sighed and turned to the fruit I had been cutting up.

“Hey, bro! You have to see these!” Louis said excitedly as I came through the front door.

“Ah no way! I can finally see them!” Louis looked up and smiled as Samantha walked in through the kitchen door. Samantha took the bandage off his finger and showed me her wedding finger, which had ‘I do’ on the side. Louis took his bandage off and showed me his wedding finger. I looked at Louis and Samantha who were giggling at each other and looked at the tattoo on the side of his wedding finger to see the word ‘Ditto’ on it.

I looked up and saw them kiss passionately knowing that what they had was true love. Uncomplicated and easy love.
