~~Cullen's POV~~
Why?
Why did I say it?
I threw the vase in my hand, launching it across the room. It smashed against the wall. It broke, just like I'm breaking.
"Cullen, you did this to yourself." My mother's voice was calm but held anger. Lots of it.
"You think I don't know that!" I yelled at her. "I didn't mean to say it!" The side table was cleared in seconds, my hand had a cut from broken glass but I didn't care.
I might have rejected her but I loved her now more than I ever thought possible. "Why?" I muttered, letting myself crumble to the floor. Just as Purity did when I rejected her. My thoughts all directed toward her and took control of me.
"Why what?" Now her voice was softer. I pictured the tears on her face but refused to look at her to see if I was right.
"Why do I love her more? I rejected her, the bond should have snapped." My voice lowered at the end.
"A bond can never snap. You loved her and you will never stop loving her, you can try but it won't work." My mother said harshly before slamming the door out of the house. I wanted to shift, badly, and go look for her but I had already sent people out to look for her. My house was destroyed, like before when she left. Both times, it was my fault she left. Mine.
Memories flitted through my head. I remembered each spark, each kiss, every touch. All of it replayed in my mind, not letting me rest and be guilt free.
You deserve this. My wolf growled. I realized he was making the memories. Just to torture me.
"I know." I whispered. My hands on my head, my body rocking back and forth. "I know." I repeated.
~~Purity's POV~~
I now realized where I was. Recognition dawned on me.
I was running to my old pack.
I found a rotting log and found some clothes I had stashed before I left. I shifted and changed quickly.
I held my chin up and marched into the town. People glared at me, some shocked, some sad, most angry.
"Alpha Garrett!" I yelled at the pack house. "Come out here you coward!"
The door flew open. Out marched Alpha Garrett with my father behind him. Garrett was beyond furious. "I will kill you!" He yelled, coming at me. I stood still and let him tackle me to the ground. He was about to shift, his eyes black as night. I quickly sent a knee to his stomach. A Luna was just a little weaker than an Alpha but when trained right, they could be deadly. Right now, I was going to kill both of them.
"Alpha Garrett! We can't kill her." My father said, his eyes to the ground.
"Why not?! She killed my daughter! Are you going soft now?" Alpha Garrett yelled harshly.
My father flinched, "No. I understand. I want to kill her as much as you do. But she might have others surrounding us in the woods. Don't you smell it? She is Mated. This could be a trap." He said calmly.
Garrett sat, thinking, for a few minutes. "Interrogate her, find out who her Mate is. Then we'll kill her." He shrugged. Immediately, guards came, picking me up roughly. I kicked and yelled curses at them.
