Considering I hit the gym once every other year, I don't know how I was able to shove that heaping pile of testosterone off of me, but I did, and he was lying confused on the ground, as I jumped up at the sound of the doorbell.
I was looking between the door and Kase on the ground. There was no guessing to who was behind the door. As if on cue, he knocks again. Two hours must be up. Spencer's voice comes through the door muffled. "Tayce, did you fall asleep on me?" He laughs, and something about his laugh makes my heart speed the slightest.
"Oh lord," I mutter to myself. "I'll be right there!" I yell, hoping he heard me.
Kase's hand slightly tugs on my wrist, reminding me that he was still here too. "Actually, I think you should stay right here," he smirks, dazed. "Fuck Mora," he laughs, and I shush him.
"No. I'm leaving, and you can either stay, or preferably, you can go home after I leave." I suggest, annoyed. I didn't want Spencer to think I was still remotely hung up on Kasen.
"You're still hung up on me? Good, because I'm still hung up on you too," Kasen says with that stupid smirk on his face and stands up, not letting go of my wrist. Is he drunk or something?
I shush him again, "Shut up and don't say a word." I pull my wrist back, and rush to grab my jacket and wallet, and slip on my sandals.
Just as I'm about to open the door, Kasen's words make my hand hover over the doorknob. "When did I become second in line, Tayce? You kiss me, and then leave me to go out with some other asshole that you just fucked yesterday? Guess we've all stooped to new lows."
"I don't have anything to say to you. Did you ever think that I may have never been going out with Spencer if it weren't for you?" I spat back. "You can let yourself out since you obviously had no problem letting yourself in."
I flung the door open with more force than I meant, and my date nearly topples onto me before he barely catches himself on the door frame.
"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry!" I say, and put my hand out to steady him.
He laughs. "Didn't mean to scare you there, I don't even know what made me think it was a good idea to lean up against the door when I was waiting."
"It's not your fault, sorry I took so long getting ready," I apologized again.
He smiles. "Let's just get out of here." He takes my hand, and for the first time in forever, I got that weird tingly feeling in my fingertips, and for once I genuinely felt nervous.
And when did Tayce Avenda get nervous over some guy holding her hand?
Just as I shut the door behind me, my decisions decide to bite me back in the butt.
"Babe! I'm sorry, don't be like this, come back!"
"You've got to be kidding me," I mutter under my breath.
I try to shut the door, so I could at least explain everything to Spencer, but instead I nearly slam the door on all of Kase's fingers. Not that I would've regretted that.
"I thought I told you to get out of my house?" I say, practically breathing fire in Kase's direction.
His eyes are shining with laughter, but his voice and face are all playing the part of the hurt ex-boyfriend. I could only think of two words describe my feelings towards him, and they started with 'f' and ended with 'u'.
Spencer looked confused, but bless whoever, because I could tell from the way his eyes were narrowed the slightest at Kase, he knew that something wasn't completely right here.
