The human was gone; they had disappeared through the barrier after the defeat of the old king, Asgore. Now, the underground needed a new king. Undyne and Sans thought, "Who better for a king than the great Papyrus?" So, Papyrus was crowned king. Years passed after the human had left and things had changed tremendously; Papyrus lost his lovable personality and became more cold, and the kingdom fell into a state of depression a short while ago.
Papyrus had been stressing out for maybe a year or so on how to fix this mass depression. But suddenly, one of the guards had ran in and said, "Sire! There is report of a human traveling through the Underground!" Papyrus stood from his throne in joy, which he hadn't felt in such a long time, and said, "Find them! Bring them here! I promise on my people this, that I will have that human's soul and break the barrier! For all monster kind!" The guard nodded quickly with a smile on his face and ran out of the throne room.
Papyrus smiled to himself and sighed with relief. "Maybe," Papyrus thought, "maybe this will put my kingdom at ease. And maybe they will all be happy again." Papyrus smiled as he sat back down and hummed "Bonetrousle" to himself.
