When he finally got to the door, the lights suddenly turned on, the door slamming shut against Sans' back, causing him to fall forward onto the wooden floor. He stayed on the floor for a few seconds to regain his breath before pushing himself off the floor. But what he saw made him want to slam back into the floor and sink into it; his brother stood high and mighty, one hand holding a sharp bone and the other holding Lorn by the back of their shirt collar. Sans reached out and said, "No--!"

But suddenly, blue bones surrounded Sans. Papyrus said, "One step closer and your dead. You do only have one HP after all. Heh, weak." Sans gulped as he stood perfectly still. Papyrus held the sharp bone to the child, only a few inches away. Papyrus said, looking at Lorn, "So, this is what you've been leaving me for?! This filth?! How ignorant. I honestly thought you were better than that, Sans. I guess I was wrong." Papyrus brought the bone closer to Lorn's neck, a wicked grin on his face.

Suddenly, Sans shouted, "No!" Papyrus stopped and looked at his brother and asked, angry, "'No'?" Sans nodded, the blue bones not on his head. Sans said, "Pl- please, don't hurt them!" Papyrus grinned and asked, "Yeah? Or what?" Sans clenched his teeth and said, "Nothing... I can't do anything... I can't hurt you..." Papyrus chuckled and said, "That's what I thought." Papyrus turned back to the child but Sans said, "But!" Papyrus looked back at Sans in slight annoyance. Sans said, "I can make you an offer."

Papyrus asked, still slightly annoyed, "An offer?" Sans nodded and said, "Yes..." Papyrus asked, "And what might that offer be?" Sans sighed and said, "Let the kid go, remove these blue bones... and I'll stay with you..." Papyrus smirked and asked, "And by 'stay with me', what exactly does that intel?" Sans gulped and said, "It means I'll never run away... I'll never go outside or away from you... I'll be wherever you want me to be..." Papyrus thought for a moment and then asked, "And by letting this human go, what does that mean?"

Sans gave a extremely serious look when he said, "You let them go, they run far away from this place, and you never send your monsters after them." Papyrus rolled his eye sockets and then dropped the kid, the bone in his hand disappearing along with the blue bones around Sans. Lorn scrambled to their feet and then they ran over to Sans, embracing him in fear. Sans hugged back and whispered, "Hey, it's gonna be okay, kid." Lorn shook their head into Sans' shoulder and whispered, "N- no it i- isn't. Not f- for y- you."

Sans whispered, "I'll be fine, kid. I can hold my own just fine." Lorn whispered, "But your r- rib..." Sans shook his head and said, "Don't worry about me, kid. Worry about yourself. Now, please..." Sans used his magic and his hand glowed blue as he placed it on Lorn's shoulder. Sans said, "Don't come back." Sans then used his magic to teleport Lorn far away, their body getting engulfed in the blue flames as they teleported away. Soon, the light faded and all that was left was Sans, the short skeleton slumped over.

Papyrus walked over to Sans and said, "Use your magic so my dogs can't track the human? Clever, even for you." Sans looked over to the side, still looking at the floor, and said nothing. Papyrus squinted his eye sockets and said loudly, "Guards, bring him to my chambers." Suddenly, a bunch of monster guards came into the cabin, Sans thanking himself for teleporting the kid because he knew Papyrus probably wouldn't have kept his end of the bargain with those guards outside.

Two guards lifted Sans up and they carried him away, Papyrus following behind them as the other guards encircled Sans and Papyrus for protection. When they finally arrived at their "home", the guards carried Sans up to Papyrus' room, Papyrus going off somewhere else because he said he had business to do. The guards chucked Sans onto Papyrus' bed as if he was a piece of wood. Then, one of the guards went around the bed and pulled out a metal collar that was chained to the bed. The other guard held Sans' down as the guard clamped the collar around Sans' neck.

Sans shouted as they were about to leave the room, "Hey! Don't you find any of this crap weird?!" They both shrugged and one said, "Sorry, King's orders." Then, they closed and locked the door from the outside. Sans sighed shakily and began to curl in on himself, whispering, "Kid, please be okay..." Then, he felt himself drifting to unconsciousness.

Sans found himself in a forest, the dark sky filled with stars. He looked around and suddenly, a child ran right passed him. Sans decided he'd follow the kid, see where they were going. After a long while of running, the kid slowed to a stop and then slumped to their knees, releasing a sob as they did so. Sans walked closer to the kid and then began to realize, it was Lorn. Lorn sobbed out, "S- Sibby... Where a- are y- you?..." Sans reached out for the kid but his hand phased right through them.

Suddenly, a familiar voice said from behind Sans, "They can't hear you." Sans turned around and saw that it was Chara, that kid from his dream before. Sans asked, "What do you want?" Chara shook their head and said, "Nothing really. I'm just here because you're an important part of this story." Sans gave a confused look and asked, "'Story'? What story?" Chara chuckled and said, "Oh, but that's not important, Sans. What is important is that you escape." Sans asked, "Escape from where?" Chara said, "Escape from the other. You have to, Sans."

Sans asked, "Could you please tell me who this 'other' is?" Chara chuckled once again and said, "Sans... He's the shell of your brother." Sans' eye sockets got wide at the realization, becoming quiet. Chara pointed at Lorn, who still wept on the ground, and said, "You and this child are the only hope for both monster and human kind." Sans asked, "What the hell does that mean?" Chara sighed with annoyance and said, "It means that unless you two can get your sorry asses back together, then both your races are in great danger."

Sans asked, "What danger?" Chara said, "Danger of the other. He's going to rip apart both your races and soon, there will be no one but him at the top. You have to stop him." Sans said, "But I don't know how!" Chara said, "The kid, Sans. You and this child are the key to freedom." Then, suddenly, Sans fell into darkness, everyone disappearing. As Sans fell, he soon found himself hitting ground.

Sans shot up but got choked by the collar. He grabbed at it and pulled back on the front so he could breath. Sans panted heavily, staring down at the bed. "God, I don't wanna be here." Sans thought. Sans attempted to use his magic to break the collar but it didn't work. "Stupid magic barrier..." Sans grumbled to himself. But suddenly, the bedroom opened with a bang.
