Sans finished packing and sat on his bed once again. A tear began to prick at his eye socket, and then another at the other side. Sans then began to cry, remembering the sweet, innocent brother he once had. He covered his mouth with his hand, afraid that his brother might hear his sobs, though, most likely not. Sans then began to bite hard into his finger bones, leaving scratches and nicks in his bones. Sans thought, "This has to be my fault, somehow. Maybe I could've stopped Frisk. Maybe we could've gotten the happy ending..."

Sans continued to muffle his sobs as he cried his soul out. Eventually, he cried himself to sleep.

A tall skeleton stood with his back turned to Sans. Sans reached out and asked, "Papyrus?..." The skeleton wore his old body armor. But the skeleton's attire quickly switched to his king's outfit, crown shining atop his skull. Sans took his hand back. The skeleton turned around, a orange glow in his right eye. Sans took a step back with fear shown on his face. Sans said, "You aren't Papyrus..." The tall skeleton took a step toward Sans, an evil smirk on his face as he said, "Hello, brother." It sounded like he was mocking Sans.

"No! No, no, no, no! NO!! You aren't my brother! You aren't my brother! You aren't my brother! You... You aren't..." Sans stumbled to the ground as black invaded his vision. The tall skeleton loomed over Sans as everything slowly faded to darkness.

Sans felt himself being shaken to consciousness. The boney hands that gripped his shoulders were firm, "Probably gonna leave a bruise." Sans thought. Sans opened his eye sockets to find Papyrus looming over him with an angered face. Papyrus released Sans, letting him flop back down onto the bed. Papyrus stepped away from the bed as Sans quickly sat up, his legs hanging off the edge of the bed now. Papyrus said frustrated, "Finally! You're awake! Jeez, I sent one of my guards in here and even they couldn't wake you, so I had to do it myself. You're so troublesome, Sans!"

Sans looked down at his hand, the one he chewed earlier, and whimpered, "I'm sorry... I'll try not to sleep so much." Papyrus said, "Good! That'd be great for everyone. You could get actual work done." Sans nodded. Papyrus said, "Well, no time to sit around now! Today is the day I free our people! I've got all the monsters of the Underground at the barrier's entrance. Let's go." Papyrus left the room. Sans sat for a moment before grabbing his duffle bag and rushing out after Papyrus.

The barrier was broken by the seven souls, but surprising enough, the human souls didn't fade away. So, King Papyrus kept them with him in their jars. The guards and town's people who brought weapons stormed the near by town, quickly claiming it within a matter of a couple of hours. Papyrus had a group of monsters burying human bodies since they didn't turn to dust like monsters did and he had a group collecting souls and bringing them to Papyrus. Papyrus claimed the town hall, having a group of guards setting his things up.

Sans found a small room he thought he liked with a bed and took out all his things from his duffle bag. He made up the bed with some sheets he had and laid down. Sans looked up at the ceiling, thinking... remembering. Sans closed his eye sockets and pictured the time himself, Papyrus, and Frisk were eating Papyrus' poorly made spaghetti. Even though the food was awful, they all still had a wonderful time just enjoying each others' company. "When had that all changed?" Sans thought, "Oh yeah. When Frisk killed Asgore and went through the barrier. Never even came back."

Sans scoffed and opened his eye sockets. Sans sat up and stood from his bed. He used a shortcut to teleport to a nearby forest. Sans looked up at the setting sun, a sight he'd never seen before. He sighed and whispered to himself, "I wish Papyrus could enjoy this with me... He probably wouldn't really care anymore, though." Sans sat in the grass and looked up at the pink-ish sky. Suddenly, tears began to pour down Sans' face. Sans said, "Heh... I guess it just comes... natural-ly now, huh? God, I wish I could've found that funny."

Sans used his jacket sleeve to wipe his eye sockets but more tears came. Sans soul began to feel heavy, almost as if someone was using blue magic on it. Sans let out a choked sob as he gripped the front of his shirt. Sans closed his eye sockets and summoned his soul. He opened his eye sockets and stared at the soul angrily, as if it had done something horribly wrong. Sans angrily grabbed his soul with both his hands and began to scratch at it. He felt his body become engulfed in pain. His body began to flake off dust, Sans only having 1 HP.

Sans began to scratch harder, sobbing loudly. He shouted through sobs, "I wish... I could... just DIE!!" Sans released his soul and fell to his hands and knees. Sans panted heavily through broken sobs, tears falling off his face and on the grass. His blue tears glowed lightly against the now dark green grass. Sans looked up at the sky, it now being dark, the moon out in a crescent. Sans sniffed and wiped his face on his jacket sleeve. He stood up and teleported back to his new room. Sans sat down on his bed, sniffled one last time, and took off his jacket and slippers before laying down.

He thought, "I should probably go to sleep if I'm gonna be awake all day tomorrow. Don't wanna make Papyrus mad again." Sans closed his eye sockets, drifting away into unconsciousness.

The sun was high in the sky, a meadow of white and yellow flowers, and two skeleton's sat in the middle of it all. Sans looked over and up at his brother, him having his old body armor on. His brother looked over at Sans and asked, "What is it, brother?" Sans chuckled and looked away, saying, "Nothin', bro. Just thinking." His brother asked, "About what?" Sans said with a genuine smile, "Well, I'm thinking about a skele-ton of things." His brother face palmed and groaned, "Saaaaanns!" Sans chuckled.

They sat in silence for a while before his brother spoke softly, "Brother?" Sans looked over at his brother, who now had his head bowed. His brother looked at the ground in thought as he spoke, "Do you... hate me?" Sans furrowed his "brows" in confusion and said, "No! Why would you ask that?" His brother said, "Because of what kind of monster I am." His brother flashed to his king attire and quickly flashed back. He finished, "Because of what I've become." Sans eyes went wide and he was left speechless.

Suddenly, Sans began to fall into a scene of darkness. Sans' left eye socket changed to blue as he frantically looked around. His brother, or anything for that matter, was no where to be seen, just darkness. Sans' eye flame began to get bigger, engulfing him. The flame began to light the darkness and Sans looked in front of him. He saw in a text box that read, "*Your brother's a horrible person, Sans." Sans felt his bones tense as he remembered where that statement came from. Sans said, "I guess you were right, kid..."
