LILY stared at Hayley for the longest time possible. Somehow and silently waiting for an explanation to come. Why was she here? Who is she? How did Klaus meet her? It was all spinning in her head at once but all that came out from my mouth was, "Hi I'm Lily."

It was pathetic really. And Klaus looked at Lily for the longest time possible with a sympathetic face before saying, "Hayley is pregnant with my child."

Lily was not sure what she was hearing so she thought she must have misheard him. "Excuse me?"

"Hayley is pregnant with my child." He repeated louder this time.

And then the Little Gilbert knew she had not misheard him. So it turns out that Hayley wasn't her supposed ally after all but rather, carrying Klaus' hybrid baby. Truth be told, she knew something like this was going to happen sometime in the future.

It was only like living a fantasy if Klaus was able to live by her expectations. And so, Lily just needed to bear the situation. She did not know what this would imply for their relationship but it surely was not a good thing.

Lily knew better than to blame the baby for it because the baby had nothing to do with it. It was an innocent little baby who was created by Klaus and Hayley.

"Okay." It was the only word that came out of her mouth. She tried really hard to stop the tears that dreaded to pour out. "I just need time to process this."

And then, she fumbled into her room, locking the door.

Elijah had no idea what Niklaus even thinking about. He had the most perfect girl standing right above his face and still, he manages to hurt her. Elijah did not know Lily well but he could clearly tell that she loved Klaus and that Klaus had hurt her too many times to leave her scarless.

" Klaus-" And before he was able to finish his words, Klaus had already raged.

"DO NOT TRY TO LECTURE ME BROTHER!" Hayley flinched slightly, not used to the situation she had been put in or to Klaus, the father of her baby.

"You disgust me brother. Lily has been hurt enough and still, you never stop do you?" He said calmly.

"YOU TRYING TO BECOME THE BETTER BROTHER AS ALWAYS. GO AHEAD. RUN AFTER HER."

Lily, may I come in?" Elijah's gentle voice from the doorway as he knocked.

"Yes" Lily wiped off the tears that fell from her eye, making sure Elijah did not see her cry.

She was supposed to be tough. Afterall, what happened took place probably before Klaus even met Lily. It was silly of her to even cry for Klaus.

"Lily.. I can sense something is not right. What's wrong?" Elijah ran up to Lily and held her chin up so it was directly facing him.

"Nothing. It's all good." She tried to hide the soarness in her voice so he wouldn't trace her crying.

"I can hear you crying from across the hallway." Elijah said, clearly putting on a sympathising face.

And then she couldn't take it anymore. She burst out in tears infront of Elijah without saying a thing. Everything felt wrong and the moment is all felt right, it was just broken again. She opened up to Klaus and trusted him but in the end, he shattered her.

Hayley was pregnant with Klaus' baby. The right thing to do was let him go because he deserves to have a family with Hayley and their future child. Lily knew continuing her relationship with Klaus was just going to be a burden in between and she wasn't going to be the cause of his baby growing up with no father. She won't let it happen.

A few weeks had passed and a lot has happened during those few weeks. Lily had moved out of the compound and rented her own apartment. But she promised to stay in New Orleans for the sake of her sister and Klaus' deal. But throughout all this time, Elijah made her feel better. He was always there. She grown to know him better during these past few weeks. He was with her throughout the hard times and during the first few days when she was at her worst conditions.

Elijah had been the one who was there when Klaus hadn't. He had proven to Lily to be the better brother and to the truth, she did not know how her feelings for Klaus could ever return to the way it once was again. Sure he still loved him but it would not be pure, the way it was before it all happened. All he does is hurt her but she relentlessly forgive him without a doubt. It was clearly time for her to make a change and break the cycle. And now, it seemed like the perfect time.

Elijah searched over his wardrobe for something to wear. He was trying hard to keep his calm but at the same time wanted to impress Lily. And finally, he settled back to his regular suit and tie, heading off to Lily's apartment that was only a few blocks away.

He knocked on the door and rang the doorbell twice. Lily opened it right away.

"Hey Elijah. Come in." She smiled.

"Lily,I was wondering. Would you fancy a lunch and a walk around town with me? You are turning a little pale I'm afraid." Elijah mocked, fixing his tie.

"Just say it Elijah. You want to ask me out on a date." She rolled her eyes.

"Well that would surely make things more easier." He smiled. "Shall we?"

"We shall." Lily skipped, intertwining her arm with his.

And for once, Lily was able to get her mind of Klaus.

Sorry for the late update guys. So I've decided to change the story into 3rd pov because it makes more sense that way. Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter.
