Welcome, to Dogs of Denver- Surviving the Storm!! I haven't really written a book like the way this will be written but I think it'll be interesting! I'm exited to see where this will go and feedback will be very appreciative if I am to keep the story going!

___"Katya, Kobi! Cobalt barked, "Come on! There has to be something around here we can eat!"
"Alright, alright! Kobi and I were only trying to play!" i growled as Kobi and i stopped play-fighting.
Cobalt hadn't always been so harsh and serious. Once the disaster struck he had taken a lot of responsibility over us. We stayed on the farm, unlike many other dogs that have come through, they moved quite often. Looking for their humans and family, but not us, Cobalt had said that we had plenty of food here and that our people would come back to us. I was beginning to grow doubtful though. ration between the three of us were getting slim, and it had been well over three moons since our people had left.
"Cobalt, maybe we should move on." Kobi spoke, echoing my own thoughts. He knew that Cobalt was desperate for our people to come home. He had a special connection to the young boy that was about 36 moons old now, Cobalt was very serious about protecting the young one and cared deeply for his safety and i felt sorry that he wasn't here with him right now.
"No, our humans would come for us" Cobalt replied curtly, but his voice was strained. Our coats weren't as healthy as they use to be, and my pads were getting sore from having to scavenge for food all day.
"Cobalt its been over three moons, they would have come back by now" i added shyly, knowing that Cobalt would likely get upset if we pushed the matter too far. I was getting restless, our home was nothing more than a few sticks, and the human cupboards were empty. there was nothing here for us anymore.
"We cant just give up on them!" Cobalt growled stubbornly. I knew that he wanted to wait, but if we stayed here forever we would starve.
"Cobalt, they may have moved on. We've waited for three moons. I think its time to go.'' Kobi added cautiously. His red and white coat was dull, but his sharp blue eyes that all of us had were sparked and hopeful for an adventure.
"Maybe... or" Cobalt started "We could wait another moon, just in case" he barked nervously.
"Cobalt i don't think they're coming back" i said sadly. I missed the humans too, the girl would take me to a park a few blocks away and we would play with a Frisbee till it was dark.
"Perhaps, perhaps it is time" he said, almost whining. I felt bad for him, he would have waited forever for them to come back. but if we did that we would starve.
"Yes!" Kobi yelped excitedly, "finally! where do we start!" he darted around the yard until jumping the crusty picket fence of our home. "Come on!"
Cobalt and i shared a glance, still nervous about leaving all that we'd ever known. I went first, leaping over what was a nicely painted fence. When once, my white and grey fur would almost blend into the whiteness of the fence.
I took a few steps after leaping over, and waited to see Cobalt's black and white pelt leap over to follow Kobi and I into the city.
The city was barren, a few dogs in worse condition we were skidded from view at the sight of us. Rats and broken windows scattered the empty city giving it an eerie look.
A smell caught my attention and I swerved to follow it, hearing Cobalt and Kobi in pursuit. I found myself in an abandoned store. They were wrecked with groceries littered all around the place, a lot was rotting.
