This chapter is dedicated to irelandinamerica who created the amazing cover of the book. It was hard choosing one, but I eventually went with this one. Thanks again!
There are also a few other users who made covers for this story, so I'll include them as media in future chapters.
"Jess, are you okay?"
....
"Jess!"
....
I felt a slap against my face and came out of whatever daze I was in. Shocked, I turned my head to the source of the slap.
Ash looked down at his right hand and quickly closed his eyes, "I-I'm sorry, I was just worried about you. You weren't responding to when I said your name and-"
"It's fine Ash, I'm okay." I shrugged it off and touched the burning spot on my face, "I deserved it." I laughed.
"Sorry again." Ash said sheepishly, "so, wanna tell me what's up?"
I shrugged.
"What do you mean?"
He narrowed his eyes at me, "You haven't said a word all day up until now, not to mention I haven't even been insulted once today."
"I've just had a lot on my mind, that's all." I rolled my eyes and scanned the menu in front of me.
It was Saturday and Ash had decided to barge into my house that morning, telling me to 'just throw on any crap I own' because he's taking me out for lunch with him. After that we would just wander around, searching for something to do for the rest of the day.
"Don't tell me it's still that weird dream you had the other day that's still bugging you." I didn't look at him, but I could tell he was frowning.
It wasn't a dream, it was real.
"Let's just forget about that Ash, please." Begging to change the subject. I looked up from my menu and into his chocolate brown eyes, "My stomach is screaming for this chicken and mayo toastie, where's the waiter at?" I said a little bit louder than intended.
"Chicken and mayo toastie? Do you know how small that is?" Ash lifted a brow.
I nodded, "Yes, that's why I'm taking it. Unlike yours, my stomach isn't the size of my head."
He scrunched up his nose and sat back in his chair, "Nah, I'm not that hungry today. I think I'll just go with a baguette."
"Their baguettes are huge Ash."
He pointed a finger at me, "For you they are. For us people that have stomachs the size of our heads, thats nothing." a Smile made it's way onto his face while he ran his fingers through his hair, causing it to stand up in every direction.
Talking about having a bed head
I laughed, "Okay, okay, but honestl-"
I didn't get to finish my sentence, because I was cut off by the ring of Ash's phone. He fished his pockets for it and finally took it out.
