Although it didn't make the cover, I thought I'd put this in here. The media to this chapter is an amazing cover made by ChatterKid

When I got home, my mom had asked me how how our little outing was. I had to lie to her and say it was amazing and made up a bunch of stuff we did. It was easier than telling her that a shapeshifter-man had a nice conversation with me about my 'special' ring that he wanted.

It still hadn't fully registered in my brain yet. I spoke to an actual shapeshifter, but then again, how do I know he spoke the truth? How do I know he didn't just simply make up all of that just to get his hands on my ring because it's valuable?

'He wouldn't have made up a story about shapeshifters then stupid, he would've simply just asked for it' I thought to myself.

After telling my mother a bunch of lies, I went upstairs to my room and collapsed onto my bed. Laying there, I kept thinking about what happened in the cafe.

I really wish Sylver were here right now...

Being me, I decided to see if I could summon the bird using my awesome telepathy powers (that I just so decided I have all of a sudden).

Still laying down, I raised both arms in the air and waved them around yelling, "Come to me sassy-ass crow! I need to have a chat with thee!"

Right there and then, the big, black bird came flying into my room through the open window.

I jumped up, "Holy shit! It worked! I am the telepathy queen! By the way," I looked down at my nails, pretending to examine them, "took you long enough. I almost, like, grew old."

Sylver raised his head at me at his face showed pure anger, "You have to get out! Now!"

I furrowed my brows, "What?"

"Get out of your house! I'll meet you outside. We have to get away from here, now!" He sounded out of breath.

"Why?" I placed my hands on my hips.

He looked at the window then back at me, "My dad and some of his guards are on their way here! Get out and meet me at that tree!" He pointed at a tree standing in front of our house before flying out of the window.

I shrugged to myself and turned on my heel to run, but tripped in the process. After standing up and brushing it all off, I ran out of the house as quick as I could. Luckily, my mom was asleep on the couch and I could successfully leave without being asked about my whereabouts.

I finally reached the tree in front of my house.

"Sylver," I whisper-shouted at the tree, "Gold has arrived."

"Who the fuck is Gold?" I heard the tree say, before the bird came to view.

I pointed to myself with both index fingers, "Me, silly. You're Sylver and I'm G-"

I didn't have the chance to finish my sentence, because the next thing I knew, I was about 10 feet in the air. I felt claws dig into both of my shoulders.

"Oh my god, Sylver, I'm gonna die! Let me go! Sylver!"

I knew he was a little bigger than other crows, but I honestly didn't know he'd be this strong. It really frightened me.

"Shut up and let me fly, will you?"

I was scared shitless at first, but after five minutes of  dangling from a huge crow's painful claws, I got used to it.

So used to it that I started flapping my own arms, pretending that I'm the one flying.

"Stop. Flapping. Your arms. Jessica." Came the voice from above me.
