I was running.

I honestly don't think I've ever ran like this in my life. It felt like my lungs were on fire and my legs would cave in any second. At times I stumbled and almost fell, but Sylver was right behind me and grabbed the back of my shirt with his beak every time he saw my face about to hit the ground.

At that moment, I could faintly hear strange noises coming from behind us. They sounded like growls, but much... stranger.

It was obvious, the other shapeshifters were after us, after me. And they weren't running, they were flying.

From what I could tell from a distance, their wings were huge. It was a grayish color with no feathers. It slightly resembled a bat's wings and was twice the size of the shapeshifter itself.

I didn't usually get scared, but this definitely scared me. They were all still somewhat in human form, and was in a large group of nine or ten. It was impossible to miss them and I wondered if everyone else could see them as well.

"Run Jessica!" Came a voice behind me.

What is he? Blind? I am running!

I could faintly hear a sudden screech behind us and looked behind me only to see a few shapeshifters falling swiftly to the ground. Gia and Emmis was in the crowded sky, fighting off  a few of their own kind.

I felt a push from behind, "Don't look back! They're helping you! Keep running!"

I nodded while pushing myself even more, running through the unknown neighborhood. My legs felt like giving in with each step and I soon found myself unable to breathe.

Gasping for air, I hit the road with a thump, bumping my head in the process. I felt too weak to move even an inch and laid there, gasping, breathing.

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

I opened my eyes and saw the blurry houses around me start to spin slowly.

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

Faint noises invaded my eardrums. Even the slightest sound causing me to flinch.

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

A black figure moved in front of me, blocking my vision of the blurry houses. It became bigger and bigger. Along with the figure came the distant noise of someone commanding me to get up.

Breathe in...

Breathe out...

A sudden pain consumed my head, causing my hands to automatically grasp my dark hair. Letting out a yelp, I pulled hard, ripping out a few tiny hairs in the process. My eyes started to water, making the world seem even more blurry than before.

Breathe in...

Everything went black.

Hi :)

This may just be the shortest chapter in the history of books ever written, but this was just a filler and I desperately needed to post something.

The next chapter is going to be bomb af though.
