~Melody~

"Wake up Melody it's time to go to school!!!" My mom needs to stop yelling. Every school morning it's the same but today was a new day. My first day of high school.

"I'm up mom!" I'd hurry and get dressed. I would then walk out of my room and go to the bathroom. Did my business and then brushed my hair. I decided to go with a simple hairstyle, a basic headband.

I walked toward the question grab a quick snack. Went back to my room to grab my backpack. I then ran down the stairs as I was in a time crunch.

"Bye, mom!" I walk out the door and walk to the bus stop which was pretty close by. I'm so nervous, new friends, old friends. More or less new people. I got on the bus and sat by myself. I stared out the window until we got to the next stop. I smiled while the people walked by. The last person to get on was a very tall guy. I smiled and quickly looked away and looked outside the window. I would assume he is a senior, but what do I know?

Do you know the feeling you get when someone is looking at you? Well yeah, that just happened to me.  But I don't let it bug me, some people you can't make happy. We arrived at the school and we all got off. I walked into the school and walked directly to my advisory.

"Hey Melody," a familiar voice had said. I looked and saw my friend Ellie.

"Hey, Ellie, Jay, Tina, Bella, and Nancy," I said with a huge smile. I was so happy to see some familiar faces. I sat down next to Ellie and a girl named Penny.

One thing about me is I always get anxious when it comes to something unfamiliar. I am glad I have a lot of familiar faces from middle school. It puts me at ease when we have an advisory day today.

"Hello everyone I'm Mrs. Dawson. I want all of you to get in a circle." She said smiling.

"A circle?" Everyone said at the same time.

"Yes, a circle and hurry." Mrs. Dawson would wave at us to come over to the open space in her classroom.

We all got into a circle.

"I want all of you to say your name. Starting with you." I happened to be standing right across from Mrs. Dawson.

"Me?" I asked. Lucky me, first day, and I get called on.

"Yes." Mrs. Dawson would give me an encouraging smile.

"Hi, my name is Melody."

"Hello, my name is Jay." Jay was a very outgoing guy, I knew him from middle school. I never spoke to him but I knew of him.

"My name is Tyson." Tyson was quiet but always seemed to get into trouble.

"Names Tony." Tony on the other hand was very funny but always managed to get into fights. But he was a very nice dude.

"Hi, my name is Ellie." Ellie is someone I got close to during middle school. She is very smart and always strives for the A.

"Hello everyone my name is Katie." Someone I wasn't familiar with either but she seemed to be into sports. Given she was wearing a tracksuit.

"Hi everyone my name is Val." Val I wasn't sure about, she was an unfamiliar face.

"Hi, my name is Jason." I don't know Jason, not much I can tell from him.

"Hi, guys my name is Andrew." He seems a bit serious but not someone I am familiar with either.

"Hello everybody my name is Nate." He seemed to be your typical smarty pants.  I again am not familiar with him.
