The sun was almost out and people were already walking to work. We had been walking from Washington Park for about a few hours.
"I'm sorry Ethan but I need to rest" said Emma as she removed snow from a bench and then sat down.
"Me too" Said London as she too sat down on the cold bench.
We were in the middle of Denver where the skyscrapers rose high above us.
On the streets, we continously saw police cars and investigation units heading down to Washington park.
"Do you think they'll find out?" Asked Logan as he stood next to me.
"Probably" I responded, "Nick is so stupid. He knows people shouldn't know about this".
"Maybe that was his plan. To expose us" said Dylan as he sat down on the bench too and hugged London to keep warm.
"But why would he expose himself too. It just doesn't add up" added Nathaniel as he sat next to Emma.
"Who's hungry?" I asked trying to change the topic of the conversation.
"I am" said London right away.
"Let's go to that Italian restaurant I saw down the street" said one of the benders from the group.
"But they're closed" I said.
"Who has money?" Emma asked.
"I got a hundred dollar bill" I added, "But that won't be enough for everyone".
"Can we just combine all the money we have?" Said Nathaniel.
"That's actually a good idea" said Emma.
"Thanks babe" he said and I almost puked.
After the whole scene of Emma and Nathaniel kissing, I turned around and told the rest of the group about Nathaniel's idea.
They agreed and combined their money. In total we had about 5000 dollars. It was enough for now but not a lot for the long run.
"This money will be used only for food and transport" I said to the whole group.
We had to make it to Washington DC by the end of the week and we needed all the money we could get.
"Okay, but where are we going to stay throughout the trip?" Asked Dylan.
"We will be on a train most of the time so it won't be a problem" I said back, "and besides, we are going in a hyperloop train so the trip won't be that long ".
"Okay" They all responded.
"But we're still hungry" Emma said as she shook from being too cold.
"Let's go to that Mexican restaurant" I said while pointing down the street.
"Okay" some of them responded and started heading down the street.
It was really cold and it was starting to snow again. This time, it was way harder than last night. I was freezing from head to toe and the bad part is that we couldn't use fire to warm ourselfs up.
The wind was the worst part. We were all walking against the wind and the snow was getting all in our faces. I tried to help a little bit by bending the wind away from us but I stopped doing it right after a woman saw me moving my hands weirdly and seeing the wind and snow move away from us.
It was going to be really hard for us to get used to not using our bending for our benefits. People were looking for us and we couldn't reveal ourselves.
"How long?" Asked Emma as she grew impatient.
"Just a few more meters" I said. I could feel how uncomfortable they felt walking in the wind and snow.
