The sun shone brightly, spreading its warm rays onto the state of California and through Noah and Isabelle's window, shining upon their sleeping faces. Slowly, their eyes fluttered open with dread as they realized that today was the day of their departure. Today was the day to leave everything behind. Today was the day for all the goodbyes. Today was the day... to start a new beginning.
Hopping out of bed, they dragged themselves into the toilets to refresh and get ready. After half an hour, they unwillingly walked downstairs and towards the porch of the house to be greeted with worried and frantic looking parents. Once Mr. and Mrs. Jackson noticed the kids' presence they immediately masked their worried expression with a fake grin. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson grabbed the suitcases off the kids and placed them into the trunk of the jeep, bidding the kids into the vehicle and towards the jet.
Upon arriving on time for departure, the kids sat at the back of the jet while the parents sat at the front. Isabelle snuggled up into her brother's chest, sighing in exhaustion, while their parents began whispering intensely, yet again causing the kids to be confused.
Throughout the flight the kids stayed silent, not uttering a single word. Taking turns in sleeping and watching a film of their own choice, whilst their parents continued talking in alert.
