I woke up the next morning with a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach. I decided last night that I was going to talk to Vic today. I've been looking for an outfit for about twenty minutes. I want to be perfect but not too perfect. I was about to give up when Lynn walked into my room. "Lynn, help me out here." I whined, dragging out my words.
"That's why I'm here so early." She explained, ruffling my hair. I scowled at her then got up to fix my hair while she went to my closet. I was about done with my hair when she shouted, "Aha! Perfect!" She came out of the closet with an over sized sweater, light blue skinny jeans, a pink beanie, a pink scarf, and cream colored converse. I smiled at her and took the clothes to the bathroom to change and brush my teeth.
I looked over myself in the mirror and smiled. Damn I looked good. "Kellin, yes, you're hot but we gotta go or we'll be late." Lynn stated while getting off of my bed. I looked at my phone saw we only had twenty minutes to walk to school.
"Alright then, let's go." I said grabbing my bag and heading out of my room down the stairs. We shouted quick goodbyes to my parents then left the house.
"Are you nervous?" Lynn asked as we were walking.
"Nervous would be an understatement." I nervously chuckled. Lynn stopped waking and so did I.
"Just pretend you've known each other since grade school." Lynn said with an encouraging smile then continued to the school.

When we got to the school, my palms were sweaty. I really don't know why I was so nervous but I was. I was actually more than nervous, I was terrified.
"You ready?" Lynn asked as we made our way to my locker.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I replied, giving her a nervous smile. My heart stopped as I saw Vic standing near my locker. Is he doing that on purpose? Probably. I looked at Lynn to see she was smirking at me. I inhaled deeply and walked to my locker.
"Hey there, Kellin." Vic said with his charming smile.
"Uh, hi, Vic." I replied in a small voice. I looked up to see him with a surprised expression.
"Oh. Wow. I wasn't expecting you to actually talk to me." That actually kind of offended me, but I knew he didn't mean so I let it go.
"Yeah, neither did I." I said, scratching the back of my neck.
He smiled at me. "Well, what do you have first period?" He asked.
"Algebra." I simply replied.
"Let me walk with you. My class is near there." He said, smirking. I nodded in response then shut my locker. I left with him but not before glancing at Lynn.
-
The first five periods went by in a blur. I was too busy thinking about how cute Vic is. The fifth period bell rang signaling that it was time for lunch. I've never actually been in the cafeteria. Most of the time, Lynn and I go to the library. It's nice and quiet in there. While walking there, I ran into Mike. Literally.
"Oh m- oh. Hey Kellin." He said, giving me a friendly smile.
"Hey." I said, returning the smile.
"I'm not even going to ask if you took my advice because I already know you talked to him." He said confidently. I gave him a confused look. "He, just, looks a lot happier than usual." He said sadly. Did I really make him that happy? "Yes." I looked up at Mike go see him smirking at me. I blushed and started walking towards the library. "What do you have now?" Mike asked.
"Lunch, but I never eat in the cafeteria." I replied. Mike hummed it response. "Well, uh, bye." I said before running into the library.
Lynn was already there when I walk in. "Hey there my brunette best friend." I said, skipping over to the seat next to her.
"What's got you all giddy." She asked with a light giggle.
"Oh, just the fact that I was told that Vic was actually happy to talk to me today." I said, smiling ear to ear.
"Well, of course he did!" She replied. If it could, my smile got bigger. I put my head down on the table so my blush wasn't as visible.
Lynn and I sat around for about fifteen minutes before we heard people walking into the library. I was about to see who it was until Lynn grabbed me and gave me a 'don't do it' look. I gave her a weird look then turned around. There, in the doorway, was Tony Perry, Jaime Preciado, Mike, and Vic. What are they doing here? I looked back at Lynn wide-eyed.
"What are they doing here?" She whispered. I shrugged in response. I was about to reply when I felt someone pat my shoulder.
"Hey Kellin. Mind if we hang out here with you guys?" It was Mike.
"I don't care." I said back but not before looking at Lynn with apologetic look. I know how much she likes it when it's her and I.
They then all sat down at the circular table. "So, who's that?" Mike asked me, pointing to Lynn.
"That is my best friend, Lynn." I said, smiling at Lynn. Out of the corner of my eye, I swear I saw Vic slip something in my bag. I'll have to look later.
"Hey Lynn, I'm Mike." He greeted her.
"Oh, I know." Lynn said, giving Mike a friendly smile. We all sat around for the last ten minutes of lunch before the bell rang. As we were leaving, I saw Vic eyeing me up and down. I smirked as Lynn dragged me down the hall.

When I got home, I quickly tried to find the thing Vic put in my bag. Once I did, I felt my face heat up.
Text me as soon as you find this ;) 839-7830
I took my phone and put his number into my contacts. Now, how do I start this conversation.
Hey. I found your note in my bag :)
I sat and stared at my phone before it went off, signaling he replied.
Vic- I see that. How'd you find it so fast? I was honestly expecting it to take you longer.
I watched you put it in my bag...
Vic- Oh. Damn it.
Why'd you give me your number anyways?
Vic- Because I think you're pretty cool and really want to get to know you.
I blushed at his statement and continued texting him throughout the rest of the day.
