Waking up the next morning was hell. I wasn't able to fall back to sleep until 4:30. I think I pressed snooze on my alarm twenty times. By then, I was running late. Just as I was tying up my shoes, Lynn walked in. To say she looked like shit would be an understatement.

"Hey Kell. You ready?" She asked, tiredly. I nodded and grabbed my bag.

"You look absolutely terrible." I told her. She mumbled a 'yeah' and we left the house. As we were walking, my phone went off. It was Vic. "Hey." I answered.

"Hey. Do you need a ride to school?" He asked.

"I'm actually walking with Lynn." I told him, looking over at Lynn who was giving me a confused look. With that look, I realized I didn't tell her. "Oh shit." I said.

"Huh?" Vic asked.

"I don't need a ride. I'll talk to you later." I said quickly and hung up.

"What was that about?" Lynn asked.

"Vic wanted to know if we needed a ride." I told her.

"Oh. Stepping up into the crush zone." She said.

"Actually, um, we're already a thing?" I said, almost questioningly.

"What?!" Lynn shouted.

At that very moment, I told her everything from my mom and Carter getting a divorce to Vic and I.

"Kell. Why didn't you call me or something?" She asked sadly.

"I didn't want to bother you too much. I know you were at the hospital all weekend. Speaking of, how's your dad?" I said.

"Fair enough. He's doing... Okay. He got released Sunday night." She said.

"That's good. I guess."

"Yeah."

That was the end of the conversation because we were walking into the school. "Do you want to hang out at my locker with Vic?" I asked her.

"Yes. I need to have a talk with him." She answered smirking. I rolled my eyes and started for my locker.

Vic was already there, as usual. "Hey." I said, standing beside him."

"Hey." He said then look at Lynn. "Hi Lynn."

"Hello there Vic." She said with a devilish grin. "I have a few words and questions for you."

Vic look at me with knowing eyes then back at Lynn. "And what are these words and questions?" He asked her, chuckling.

"There are several, actually." She said. "One; You better treat her right because she is a fragile butterfly. Two; always, and I repeat, always use the correct pronouns. Three; do you plan on loving her? Four; do you plan on sleeping with her? Five; don't take up all of her time because I need some girl time every once in a while. And Six; do you plan on being open with this relationship?"

Oh my god. She embarrasses me so much sometimes. "Lynn. I don't think that was necessary." I said, giving her an unimpressed look.

"Of course it was!" She said. "Anyways, Vic?"

"Uh, I promise to never hurt her or to use the wrong pronouns. Um, yes. Only if she would ever want to. I respect girl time. And if she wants it, then yes." He said, struggling to remember exactly what Lynn said. I smiled at his answers. Man, this guy is great.
