CHAPTER  7

Kate and I were back from shopping and at Kate's . I was rushing around trying to get ready, I had just had the quickest shower of my life knowing that we didn't have a whole lot of time before Joe was expecting us. Its a good thing that I had taken a bath this morning knowing I might not have time to wash and dry my hair again.

I had heated rollers in my hair and was getting dressed in the outfit I had picked up with Kate today. I wanted to make an effort in my appearance and having not had the chance to do since coming here, tonight's party maybe my only excise.  I was wearing a tight black knee length silk skirt with a red silk corset top and painted black high heels. I had gone for smoky eyes with lost of mascara and also dusted my face and chest with a bronzer to give my skin a glow. After taking the rollers out it had given my hair a soft wave. I made sure I had money, phone and lipstick in the black clutch bag Kate had lent me.

Kate wolf whistled as Elle walked down the stairs.

" Well Ell's as your big sister I'm not sure I should be letting you out looking as stunning as you do. Just for god sake please promise me your friend Jacky will not be leaving your side while at this party tonight because I can see you attracting a lot of male attention in that outfit tonight ."

" Thanks for saying my outfit looks hot sis and yes Jacky will be with me all night, he wouldn't let anything happen to me so no need to worry.  I am thinking I might need a cardigan while were at the stag I know its still early and I'm dressed to go clubbing I don't want to upset anyone."

So deciding that the cardigan was a good idea ,  we were ready and in the cab on our way to meet Joe.

The cab pulled up in front of the bar.  I had been in the stag briefly before, the day I went job hunting.

Both Kate and I were out of the cab and opening the doors to the bar. We saw Joe immediately because his table was right in front of the entrance. Joe was sat with a few guys and not just the one he wanted me to meet, all I could think was thank god because I didn't want it feeling like a date when I knew I would be leaving with Jacky in a few hours.

Joe stood to greet us kissing me on the cheek and Kate on the lips. We both sat down in the two chairs Joe had left for us.

" Guys you all know my wife Kate and this is her sister Elle "

The guys all said hi and I smiled back.

Its was Luke that asked us what we wanted to drink. Me and Kate both ordered a dry white wine and lemonade. But what I really wanted was a nice cold bottle of bud.  I would have to wait till I got to the club to have one though.  Kate had always told me off for drinking from the bottle saying it wasn't lady like .

While we were waiting for our drinks , the guy sat next to me , Liam I think his name was told Joe he had better be off on the account of his dinner being in the bin if he was late gain. He shook my hand and said it was nice to of met me.

Liam brought the guys drinks back first then mine and Kate's. He gave Kate her drink first and then took the now empty seat next to me and handed me my drink.  I said thanks and hoped and prayed he was a talker and I could just sit and nod for the next few hours.

It wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be , we did have a few one to one conversations but most of the time we were all talking as a group changing from topic to topic . I found I actually liked Joe's friends, easy to get along with and funny too. Liam had told me he had been working with Joe for the last two years after moving here. He told me he had a daughter Lucy aged 4 but unfortunately is ex wife and his relationship had come to an end but he saw his little girl most weekends as she only lived an hours drive away.
