Chapter Seventeen.

"So that means you were technically there when this war began. You are very old Catalyn"

"Get to the point Cassie" Catalyn said

"Do you think I have a chance against him?" I really need to know what my chances are.

"No you don't. Not as you are now and besides you can't do it alone . That's why you have the royals Cassie, use them. Most of them have strong powers that could actually be of help. For example, one of them can read minds which means we can find the rat who let those people into the palace." A rat? Now that I actually think about it, how did they get in?

"How do you know there is a rat?" I asked

"This palace is enchanted. No body can come in except someone on the inside lets them in and for someone outside to get in it would have to be by force and that would have alerted the guards but the attack was a surprise." Hmm...

"But will they obey me? Most of them are older than me and some are to be kings." I was never the leader type.

"Sometimes I think you just talk for talking sake. Use your head, they are in your territory and tell me what better way to win your heart than to fight for it." She had a point , she always does I guess its because she's older.

"You have a point there Cat."

"Cat?" she asked weirdly

"Catalyn is too long and it sounds formal. You are my friend now so I'll call you Cat from now on."

"Hm I guess its not that bad." A thought suddenly came to my mind

"Were you ever human Cat? Because I am a little confused. You are not me but you are inside me, how come?" Did our souls like mistakenly get fused together or something?

"Think of it like this, whenever a royal is born, the anchors of the past who still linger in the palace all come to watch.." Watch? That is not weird at all.

"..and guide the mother because at child birth she is at her weakest. While there, an anchor might decide to merge with the child if she deems you worthy." How do you do that she is worthy when she is still a child?

"She merges both your spirit and hers then sends a sign to the parents so they know who their child's anchor is. But I couldn't send my message. The moment I merged with you the palace went under attack and I couldn't reach out to your parents that is why no body knows that I am your anchor and that will be your greatest advantage in this fight." I wonder how my mom was like? I have only seen her in pictures. I need to become stronger so I can protect my families kingdom.

"Thank you Cat. So where do we begin? How do I make the plants to grow?"

"Before we begin I must warn you your powers go with your emotions so you must keep a cool head always." I'm not really hot tempered anyway

"What's the worst that could happen?" It can't be that bad, can it?

"Well if not properly controlled you could kill every living plant in sight" whoa!

"Jesus! that bad?" Note to self... Always be calm

"Yes that is one of the reasons why most royals prefer to stay away from the rest of the world unless they are the heir to the throne. Have you seen any royal since you arrived apart from the princes?" Actually I haven't, now I know why. I feel bad for them. It's just like if you are not the first child then you are useless.  That's cruel, this is cruel. That has got to change.

"I haven't. That reminds me, do the princes have anchors too?" 

" No, they are born with their powers so they don't need anchors but on the other hand the royals are chosen. Your anchor determines your strength while for the princes their parent's powers combined determines how strong they are. Also a female royal can only have a female anchor and most royals are females, I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that only women can rule. You hardly find a male anchor but that doesn't mean they don't exist" This world is like the opposite of the real world where It is a man's world.
