I don't know how, but I managed to get Pansy on my side. I was actually thankful to her because she really had my back when I was confronted by those idiotic Gryffindors. Ugh. I'm so happy I wasn't sorted into that house.
Days had gone by since that encounter with Weasle. There was no sign of Gramger wanting to talk to me and I wanted to avoid her at all costs. I went through my class. Pansy and I walked into Herbology and later I went to Transfiguration then to Potions with Draco. The day was soon going to come to an end when I'm walking to Charms and I feel a hand grab my arm and pull me in to a dark corridor and then lead me down a stairwell. The light is dim and I stand with my hands in my robe pockets, one hand on my wand looking not that obvious. I speak confidently "Who's there?! Who are you?!" I say. "Shh!!! You can't speak so loudly! The professors will catch us!" I hear a voice whisper scream. "Who are you?!" I whisper panicked. "It's Hermione." The voice says. I stand back and take out my wand and whisper "Lumos maxima!" Hermione sparks at the idea I basically just gave her and does the same thing. After a minute of staring I spit out, "So what the hell did you drag me here you filthy mud blood!" Hermione rolls her eyes in annoyance and says, "Vera... I know your secret." She states. My whole body becomes stiff and my face becomes pale and I black out.
I wake up in a hospital bed. I think I'm in the last bed of the row and I have curtains all around me. I see Granger sitting on the arm chair beside my bed intently concentrating on her book (the girl should've been a Ravenclaw). My eyes are finally fully open when Granger's head energetically pops up from her book and she says, "Good! You're up! Finally, I thought you had a heart attack you just fainted!" She said with her eyes wide open. "Yeah yeah, I'm a miracle whatever. How long have I been out?" I ask sleepily, "Only 4 days," she replies calmly. My expression turns to complete shock and I feel frozen like I'm going to pass out again. The only words I could utter were, "Get me Draco." She stands not knowing what to do. "NOW!!!" I scream irritated. I felt lightheaded enough she couldn't take a simple order from me? Guess she isn't really that smart. Well, I shouldn't have assumed much of her in the first place. She is a muggle born. A dirty-blooded scoundrel is what SHE is... My train of thought is interrupted when I see the ugly bushy brown hair, skip in with a familiar and soothing platinum blonde boy. A weak smile creeps it's way onto my face, "Leave us," I command in a sick patient feel bad for me kind of way. Hermione does as I say and walks out of the room and down the corridor to exit the hospital wing. "How you holding up White? I thought you died." Draco said jokingly, "Yeah, well it's not everyday you get dragged down a stairwell skipping class only to faint and pass out and be in the hospital wing for 4 days." I say sarcastically, but I can't help the smile on my face. "Oh for the love of God Draco come here and give me a hug already!" I whine. Draco laughs and walks over to me and gives me a tight long hug and he whispers "I missed you Vere. You're like my sister and I didn't have anyone to talk to about all the drama in the school!" I laugh in my baby laugh sounding like a demented frog, but I didn't care and neither did Draco.
After I checked out of the hospital wing I set off immediately to find that Granger who caused me to faint. Ugh, she is SO gonna pay for what she did. I caught her walking to class when I grabbed her arm and pulled her into a thin dark corridor, "Muffliato," I whispered. "Lumos Maxima." We both said the same spell. When she looked up to see me she gasped. "I should've known it was you, but I just can't bring myself to talk about your little secret you disgust me quite a bit!" She says in horror, but there is a smile still there. I wanted to be sure this was the right secret. "What secret exactly are you talking about Granger?" I ask mockingly. "Well, OF COURSE you're Vera White you have MANY MANY secrets, but this one. Ugh. Brrr. Eliaaa. I can't BELIEVE that you like RON!!!" She says I shush her quickly forgetting there's a spell around us. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! GRANGER, why on HEAVENS EARTH would I ever like that FILTHY BLOOD-TRAITOR!!! You all Gryffindors are disgraces to Hogwarts. You all SHOULD be EXPELLED!!!" I exscentuate that last word remembering how much she feared it. I storm out of the corridor and head back to the common room. So what, I'll skip another day of class I'm so tired I was just passed out about an hour ago.
I apparently had a long nap and woke up after dinner when I found Draco sitting next to me staring into blank space. I wake up and he turns his head and smirks at me. "Up now are we White?" He taunts. "Oh just shut it Malfoy!" I yell playfully. A little too loud I suppose.
Classes tomorrow made me want to puke. I had to go today the professors would know I was faking and Snape wouldn't be there to make Mcgonnagal excuse any of my detentions, (not entirely sure he would but hey you gotta hope). The days went by quickly and quietly but I had decided not to touch Grangebage on the subject of my secret ever again. I'd rather her think I... Like... That piece of crap than know this. It would ruin me.
The days went by and soon the year was over. The conflict never to be touched on again.
