"Roan you motherfucker!" You yell, throwing the broken pieces of your sword to the ground. Roan stands a few feet in front of you, grinning like an asshole. You two were training together, something you had been doing since you both were kids. You two had been raised together, taught to fight together, in hopes you two would be the greatest warriors of your time. Roan had always wanted to prove his worth to his mother, even if it meant stepping on your pride to do it.

"You shit head!" You yell, running at him. His grin fades quickly, he may have convinced the Queen that he was better, but he knew you could kick his ass if you wanted. You ran at him, you gripped him by the throat and kicked one leg out from under him. You slammed him down to the ground, your hand still on his throat. Now kneeling beside him, you seethed.

"You cheated, you messed with my sword!" You growled, moving to straddle him. He looked up at you with a challenging glare.

"I didn't do a damn thing, maybe you're just bad." He spoke quietly, matching your tone. He aimed to piss you off more and it worked. You raise up a fist, ready to full on deck him but as your hand comes down he grabs it, stopping you in your tracks. A confident smirk flashed across his face a split second before he flips you both, now sitting on top of you. He wastes no time pinning your arms to the ground, another thing he had been doing since a young age.

"You little-"

"Ah ah, langue." His words roll off his tongue in a manner that makes your skin crawl, a single finger waving tauntingly in your face. As you strain against him, his grip only tightens. You know you can't win, not from here. You force yourself to let your body relax, a satisfied gin on his face.

"Your submission is greatly accepted." He whispers in your ear making you force back a shiver.

"Yeah yeah, now get the fuck off of me." You snap, he chuckles and nods his head. He stands up and walks over to his sword which now lay on the ground. He bends to pick it up and when he stands again, he turns to you to flash his award winning smirk before heading off out of the arena.

The next time he pissed you off was when you caught wind of a raid you weren't told about. You went to the commander of the army, expressing your distain for not being made aware, but you'd still gladly go. You and Roan, differences aside, always fight together. Side by side you two won many wars, you two were remarkably good together for people who hate each other.

"When do we leave?" You ask the commander.

"Um, I'm sorry Miss Y/n but I've been told to have you sit this one out."

"What? Why?"

"Didn't say." The commander shrugs, preparing to blow you off.

"What do you mean told? No one tells you anything! You're the god damn commander!" Your rage slowly rises within you, being a warrior was your one true job here. You loved war as much as you were good at fighting it, if you were going to start getting denied for things you had nothing left.

"The Queen does." The commanders says point blank and your eyes roll, you sigh and rest your hands on your hips.

"Is Roan going?" You ask quietly, desperately trying to hide your rage. When the commander nodded, you lost it. Yelling out, you bury your fist in the wall behind you. The little bastard got his mother to cut you off, you knew he hated you but this was a new low. You stormed the halls in search for him, people steered clear of you, the desire for blood clearly on your face. You searched high and low for him, until finally you found him in his room.

"Roan!" You screamed out, literally kicking open the door. Roan stood at the end of his bed, shirtless. His shirt in his hands he looked up at you, slightly startled.
