Percy

Annabeth swayed, and grabbed onto my arm to steady herself. Immediately, I turned to her with concern, wondering the reason for her sudden light-headedness.

"Annabeth, you ok?" Grover asked.

She tries to nod, but before she can, she began losing consciousness, and stumbling on the ground, weak.

"Look at her arm!" Thalia exclaimed. "It's a snakebite. The Chimera must have gotten her, and she didn't notice it until now."

I took a look at her arm. Thalia's right. On her arm, just before her elbow crease, there are two deep, circular puncture marks next to each other. The skin around them was green, and the veins pulsed black. It pained me to look at it.

All of a sudden, Annabeth began to sway, this time completely collapsing. Before she could hit the hard mud ground, I caught her, my arms immediately circling her waist and supporting her. Still, she passed out, and even when I shook her, she doesn't wake up.

"Annabeth, are you ok? ANNABETH!" I said, worry coursing through me like the venom in her veins.

"Percy, bring her over to me," Calypso called. "Being stuck on Ogygia, I know how to heal people."

Jason helped me to carry Annabeth over to Calypso. I gently laid her down in front Calypso, and she instantly began moving her hands over Annabeth, singing a song with her beautiful voice. I heard rumors that Calypso's voice on Ogygia could do this, but I hadn't see it in person until now.

I can't peel my eyes away from Annabeth. All I can think about it how I should have protected her. And now here she is, in front of me, on the brink of death. I should have done something! I should have watched over her. This is all my fault.

Piper senses my worry and puts a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Hey look, don't beat yourself up because of this. It's not your fault, ok?" But I'm so worried even her charmspeak does almost nothing.

Thalia joined in. "Percy, Annabeth's one of the strongest demigods I've ever met. She's been put through so much, and she's always beat it. Never bet against her." She said. I nodded, feeling a little better.

Calypso stopped singing, and when she pulled away, I can begin breathing again. Annabeth looks so much better now, not green, just peacefully sleeping. I can finally breathe again.

I stood up. "I'll watch over her tonight." Jason and Nico are about to protest, but see the look on my face, and they just close their mouths and nod.

As everyone else gets ready for bed, I grabbed a blanket from Annabeth's pack and draped it over her. Soon, the cavern is silent, since everyone else has gone to sleep.

I sat there, fiddling with my sword and just looking at her. Everytime I look at her, I'm flooded with guilt again. I just sit their for a few hours, until I see her begin to stir, her eyes gently opening. She tries to get up quickly, and holds her head, wincing.

"Whoa." I said. "Take it easy there." I put my hand on her cheek and gently lift her up.

"Percy?" she said groggily. "What happened?"

"When, you bit by the Chimera, and the poison caused you to pass out. You collapsed, and I caught you. Immediately, we brought you to your cot, and Calypso healed you."

I leveled my eyes with hers. "You looked horrible, Annabeth. Green, and not moving a little bit. You scared the life out of me. I've been watching you so far."

"Thanks." she said, her throat dry from not speaking for a long time. She licks her lips, and I realize how thirsty she must be.

"Here." I said, holding a glass of water to her lips. She drinks it down gratefully.
