Rufus?
The green dragon was torn from imaginings of a crunchy carcass. Taniel's mindspeech was loud, and clear as if she was standing right by him. As he gathered his wits to reply, he heard Dax introduce himself.
The dragon almost choked on his tongue. He listened for a long moment until Dax faded, leaving the usual awareness of Taniel.
The dragon rose, careful of Jarryd sleeping by his side. He stretched his wings and neck.
He nudged Jarryd with his foot. "Wake up."
"What?" Bleary-eyed, Jarryd looked up from his bedroll.
"Hurry. Pack. We must be ready to leave in an instant," Rufus said. "I have a plan."
