DANTE'S POV

"May I come in sir?"

"Oh yes yes Dante come in." King said looking up from his files.

"So what do you want to know?" I asked.

"Why do you think that I want to know something?" I got a question for a reply from the King, only he can manage to do something like this.

"No need to hide, its written all over your face Gladius, don't try hiding, at least not from me, we are childhood friends not for nothing."

"Okay fine, who was that girl?"

"Which girl?" I asked giving him a confused expression.

"The one you were holding." He replied getting exasperated.

"I hold a lot of girls King, so it would be better if you specify the time." I didn't usually like irritating my friend but I want some answers and that's only possible if I do this.

"The girl who was standing in the hallway when I entered the office today in the morning."

"That gir..."

"And yes the one whose shoulder you were touching constantly."

"Woah Woah King no need to get so worked up. Firstly I was not touching her but just trying to get her away from your wrath as you don't like people who stand in your way. And secondly that girl is Rosalinda Woods my new personal assistant." I explained.

"Why would I get worked up about some ordinary girl? I was just curious about her because of the morning incident." was his amusing reply.

"And yes what was her name?" he asked.

"Rosalinda Woods" I told him.

"Rosalinda... Rosalinda Woods." He mumbled

I was amused or should I say extremely amused to see our King pronouncing the name of an ordinary girl so delicately. Just then my cell phone rang and the person calling was our King's ordinary girl.

"Excuse me Gladius." saying this I got up and went out of his office to receive the call.

"Yes Rosalinda, any problem" I asked.

"No Mr. Dante, actually its 5pm and my shift ends now so may I leave the office because my brother is waiting outside for me. But if there is any more work left then I can ask him to wait"

"No, you may leave now. There is no more work left for you, so making your brother wait would be unnecessary." I replied politely.

"Thank you Mr. Dante." She hung the call.

When I entered the office again I saw Gladius standing in front of the glass wall separating his office from the open sky.

"Sorry it was Rosalinda's call."

"Oh, so you are on first name basis with her?" He asked with an emotion which I never thought I will ever see in his eyes.

"No King it's just that she called me Mr. Bourbon which made me feel old and you know how much I hate being old so I just asked her to call me by my name and she did the same. But if it offends you then we can go back to being formal again." I told him while going and standing beside him.

But I didn't get a reply because for the second time today my friend's mind was occupied by his ordinary girl who was walking out of the building and going towards a rather good looking man who was standing beside a car, with a smile evident on her face.

With every step she took towards the man I could sense anger coming from the King's body in waves. Blinded by his anger Gladius didn't notice the resemblance between Rosalinda and the mystery man, who was not a mystery to me anymore.

But as Rosalinda went near that man they started having a very animated conversation and anyone could tell that they were bickering with each other. Suddenly Rosalinda turned and started walking away from that man. And with each step she took away from him I could feel relief washing over me and this was not at all my emotion but it was the emotion of the man who was standing beside me and who not more than fifteen minutes ago called her 'ordinary'.

But this relief was short lived for our King because just as she went ten steps away from that man, he ran towards her and took her in his arms and swirled her around while Rosalinda was laughing her head off. He carried her and almost threw her in the car and drove off.

Seconds later I heard a cracking sound and saw that the glass wall was having cracks and was on the verge of breaking. And all I could feel was one emotion coming from the man beside me which no one can feel for someone who for them is ordinary and that emotion was

Jealousy.
