Ups and Downs| Aphmau Fanfiction

Part 2

Laurance's pov
I was in the forest... Tensions had been high. From all I heard, was that Aaron had taken the orb Aphmau had gotten, and ran off. That orb was the only way of getting Garroth back.
Do I even want Garroth back...? I think to myself, as I sit on a rock, thinking. Of course... Right? Not right. My Shadow Knight side kicks in, stinging in my brain. Shut up... Of course I do.. He's a brother to me! But he'll just steal Aphmau away from you. You don't want that. H-he won't! Even if he wanted to, it's Aphmau's choice! Is that so? Even Cadenza said it herself, Aphmau cares more for him. She kept trying to get him out of the Irene's Dimension. Oh, but when you were stuck in the Nether? She didn't try anything! That's because it was to dangerous... So? Getting Garroth out is dangerous. But she's still trying that. Mmm.... Your right... Damnit.. I clench my fists, as anger boils.
Then, I hear footsteps on the trail, heading toward the 'village', well what it is so far. It sounded like more than one pairs of feet though... Two? I think.
"Huh?" I say, as I stand off the Rock and hide behind a tree--watching whoever was walking by.
My mouth immediately drops. A familiar blonde haired guy, walking with a blue haired one.
Could that be-...no... He can't be.. It is him. Gah... I walk nearer.
Where are they heading? I think, as I trail behind them. I can infer what they are saying.
"Come on, Garroth. Almost there." Dante says.
It is... Told you! Shut up.
"Great.. I wonder how Laurance will react..." Garroth says.
Their... Going to see me? Oh, crap! Better run home, little casanova! Hey! Hello ;3 ugh... You're so annoying sometimes.
I take a shortcut, and sit on one of the logs by the fire, in the village.
Then, Garroth and Dante come on the trail, and arrive.
I look over at them, Garroth smiles.
"Hey, Laurance." Dante says.
"Hey..." I trail, and eye Garroth.
"H-Hey, Laurance.." Garroth says.
"Garroth... You... Your out.. How?" I say, almost demanding.
Dante gets a confused look, and so does Garroth... Though, his is more... Pained?
"It was..." Garroth begins, but Dante interrupts.
"Aaron.. He helped... And he... Ahem, passed. Aphmau isn't to happy about it either." Dante says.
Garroth looks at Dante, as he finishes.
"Passed? He died? That's why he took the orb!" I shout, thinking aloud.
"Yeah..." Dante says.
Garroth looks down.
"Don't worry, Garroth... It want your fault." Dante says.
But it was. I think. I glare at Garroth a bit. If it weren't for him... Aaron would be alive... Wait... What about Aphmau?! Her and Aaron were close... How is she reacting?! "Dante." I say, snapping my eyes to him.
He immediately looks at me. "Yeah?"
"How's Aphmau taking it?" I ask.
"She's... She fainted..." He says, with a sigh.
"Hmm..." I say. "I'll go see her, then."
"What?!" Garroth shouts, looking up.
"What?" I ask, giving Garroth a fresh glare.
I should probably tune down the attitude... Nah. It's getting interesting.
"It's just... She needs rest..." Garroth trails.
Or he wants her to himself! "Or you want her to yourself." I say, bluntly.
"W-what?!" Garroth's eyes widen. "N-no! She's just... Hurt badly.."
"I know that. That's why I want to see her." I roll my eyes.
"But.." Garroth looks to Dante.
Dante stays silent.
"Look, I'm going to see her. Now, try and stop me.. And see what happens." I respond, and shove past him toward the trail that leads to the portal.
"What happened to him..." I hear Dante mutter, but I continue down the path.
Garroth's pov
"Is he... Normally like this?" I ask, turning to Dante. "I don't remember him like that at all."
"He's... Different somehow..." (*cough* sk *cough*) Dante says, looking in the direction of where Laurance has walked off in.
"He won't... Hurt Aphmau... Will he?" I ask.
I can't believe I have to ask something like that...
"No... I think..." Dante says, seeming not to believe himself.
Aphmau's pov
I wake up, in a bed.. In my old house.
"Nngh..." I say, quietly.
I hear a knock on my door. Sitting up, I look toward the door. "Coming?" I say, a bit quiet.
I head toward the door, and open it. Laurance stands there.
"Laurance...?" I say.
He doesn't say anything, only pulls me into a kiss.
I kiss back... (Of course ;3) then, we stop, and he backs up.
"Laurance... Why'd you..." I trail.
"Dante... Told me what happened... Aphmau, I'm sorry..." He says, and looks at me sympathetically.
All of the hurt, and misery comes back at once. I remember what happened.
"Oh..." I mutter. "Uhm... It's... It's okay." I say.
"Mm... Still.." He says.
I don't know why... But... Laurance seems... Different somehow.. Maybe it's just me...
"Thank you..." I say, and look up at him.
He smiles. "Of course."
Then, Garroth and Dante come up behind him. Laurance turns.
"Great.." I hear him mutter.
"Aphmau, hey." Dante says, and looks from me to Laurance.
"Hi..." I mutter. I look down, and notice Laurance's hands are in fists.
"Aphmau..." Garroth begins. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine..." I say.
Laurance tsk's.
"Laurance?" I mutter.
He turns. "Huh?"
"Are you... Alright?" I whisper to him. He only nods.
"Ahem." Dante says. "I'll be taking my leave now..."
I turn toward him. "Bye, Dante..." I say.
"Bye, Aphmau... Garroth..." He glares towards Laurance. "Laurance." Then, he leaves.
"I'm... Going to go to..." Garroth says, looking down. "Goodbye, Lady Aphmau..."
"Bye... Garroth..." I say, as he leaves.
I turn to Laurance. "Everyone's acting strange..."
"Yeah..." He says. He mutters something, but I can't understand what he said.
"What?" I ask.
"N-nothing..." He responds. "Uhm... I'm going to... Get some rest..." He says. "Good Night, Aphmau..."
"Night..." I respond.
He gives me a smile.. But it doesn't feel right. Then, he walks off.
I walk back into the house and lay in bed.
Only two thoughts were crossing my mind that night--Laurance and I kissing, and Aaron's death.
Laurance's pov
I told her I needed rest... But I really needed a place to calm down. My Shadow Night side was getting to much grasp on me.
  I went to a random rock in the woods, and looked at the stars, trying to grasp the little humanity I had left. It's weird... I felt as if... Something were... Calling me.
