I fucking hate sexists. And I know I covered this in another chapter but I feel like I should really let my feelings about this subject out. Like, if your a boy you're not supposed to do girly things or like the colour pink and stuff, and girls aren't supposed to like boyish things and the colour blue as well, and it really pisses me off. Why can't people be who they want to be without being criticised by today's society. And I think that it is drilled into everybody's minds at a young age, like around 5-10 year olds. They are given certain toys to play with and certain clothes to wear. Why not let them pic what they want to play with and what they want to wear. It's down to the parents, and that is why I kinda blame them for today's sexism and/or homophobia, which also links in with sexism. Anyway back to the parents, they're the ones that buy the toys and the clothes for the kids and I think they should let the children have a little more freedom in those departments. Like I have this friend who is in his 30s and he just had a child, all throughout the pregnancy he didn't find out the sex because he was like "I don't need to know because I know it's going to be a girl! Paint the room pink because it's going to be a girl!" Sure enough, boy arrives and the dad is like "oh we're going to have to paint it pink now" and I said why can't you just leave it pink? And he said "because it will turn him gay"..... Now idk about you but last time I checked colours didn't have magical powers that turn children gay. and I know I can't just pin this all on the parents because they had the same thing as children, but why? Who decided all of a sudden that children aren't allowed to have toys/clothes targeted at the opposite sex? And when did certain things such as colours become targeted at certain genders? Ok I'm going to stop here before I implode...
