((Lol I realized I fucked up logic last chapter, the meeting was supposed to be after the apartment thing but i'm keeping it like that and I lied the wedding isn't tomorrow it's in two days cuz logic and Ragnor))
<><><>Magnus's POV<><><>
I watched him as he feel asleep on my couch. I walked over and picked him up in my arms bridal style. He curled into, digging his head into my chest and clutching my shirt. I took him into my room and lied him down on the bed. Sighing, I watched him snuggle into the pillow before walking away. I turned on the TV and sat next to Chairmen Meow on the couch, pulling the cat into my lap. I stroked his fur and felt a cold drop of water slide down my face.
"I lost him." I whispered to the cat. I mindlessly stared at the TV screen but I wasn't even paying attention. My mind was focused on something else. All I could think about was how perfect Alexander Gideon Lightwood was.
<><><>Alec's POV<><><>
I woke up and rolled over. It was dark outside the window and the clock flashed 12. I looked around not remembering what happened until I realized I was in Magnus's bed he must have taken me here after I fell asleep on the couch. I walked out into the living room rubbing my eyes. I saw him laying on the couch and snuggled with the cat. Chairmen Meow jumped out of Magnus's arms and walked over to me purring at my feet before walking off. Weird, he doesn't like the Nephilim usually. I turned off the TV and covered Magnus with a blanket.
"Alexander?" He turned just as I was about to leave the apartment.
"Yes." Jesus he's a light sleeper.
"Where are you going? It's to late to drive out in the city."
"I didn't think I was welcomed."
"Again, it's too late to be out. Go back to bed."
"Magnus I can sleep on the couch, you go lay in your bed."
"That's not an option Alexander. Either I know you're safe in bed or I sleep on the floor out here with you to know you're safe." I sighed looking down.
"Fine." I trudged to the bed with a mumbled "Goodnight." I lied down and let my thoughts go crazy. I can't believe this wedding is happening. I'm going to be married to Lydia and that's that. There's nothing I can do. After about an hour of staring at a very colorful wall, I got up and walked back out to the living room where Magnus was watching TV. "Magnus..." I whispered as he looked up. "I can't sleep." He let out a sigh and stood up.
"Meet me in the room, I'll be back in there in a bit." I nodded turning around and jumping back in bed.
<><><>Magnus's POV<><><>
I went to the fridge and poured a glass of milk, warming it with magic. When I got to the room Alec was sitting up on his phone, legs covered by the blanket.
"This should help."
"Thanks." He took a sip and looked at me curiously. "How'd you get it so warm?"
"Magic, but maybe I should've thought of a different method since I use my magic as a 'game' according to you." I pulled up a chair a few feet away.
"Magnus, I didn't mean it li..." I stopped him by putting my hand up.
"Don't Alexander, I've had enough excuses to last me a lifetime, or five."
"I know I just..." He bowed his head, putting the half empty/full glass on the nightstand. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright Alec, just get some sleep." He lied back down and I covered him with the blanket. I went to leave the room but his soft, shaking voice stopped me.
"Please..." I could tell he was crying. "Don't leave." I sighed again, climbing into bed with him. "I-I'm sorry that I do this. I don't want this wedding Magnus, I really don't."
"No matter how much you say you don't want it Alec you're still the one saying there's nothing we can do to stop it."
"Magnus... I..."
"No. I don't want to talk about it, go to sleep Alexander."
"But Mag..."
"NO! STOP!" I jumped out of the bed and ran a shaky hand through my hair. I caught a glimpse of the fragile shadowhunter moving back to the other corner of the bed. "Alexander," I could feel my heart melting away as his eyes clouded over. "I'm so sorry Alexander, I didn't mean t..."
"I should go." He threw off the blankets and headed for the door, tears rolling down his face.
"Alec..."
"Goodnight Magnus." And with that he was gone. He slammed the door in my face as he walked out. I've ruined it. Whatever slim chance I had with him, is gone.
*Alec's POV*
I ran down the street over to the Institute as fast as I could. When I got there I snuck in as quiet as possible. When I got up to my room Izzy was waiting on my bed.
"How'd it go with Magnus?"
"Get out of my room Izzy."
"I know you went to Magnus's, what happened? You were gone all night."
"Nothing happened, I fell asleep on his couch when I was waiting for him to get home."
"So he was there when you woke up, then what?"
"Nothing, then I left. Now get out of my room Isabelle."
"What happened!"
"GET OUT!" She yelped and sprinted out of the room. I ran a hand through my hand and closed the door after her. I walked into the bathroom and turned on the sink. When I lifted my head up I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I could see the bags under my eyes and the tear stained cheeks. It's not Magnus that is doing this to me, I know that. It's Lydia, and this wedding. But I have to go trough with it, for my family name.
