Syed woke up in McGonagall's office on a couch. Nobody was there with him. Just an empty room. He felt a sharp continuous pain in his rib, but other than that, he was perfectly okay. He got up and walked around to McGonagall's desk, taking a look at it. Pictures of Dumbledore, and what looked to be her family. A picture of a man, about middle aged, laughing with a cup of what looked to be coffee in his hand. That must have been her love interest.
Out of the corner of his eye, Syed glimpsed something sticking out of one of McGonagall's drawers. He knew he shouldn't, but he decided to anyways. Syed pulled the photograph out of her drawer. A shadowy object, seeming to be a person, stood with their face against the view of the photograph. Then she looked around very suspiciously, checking behind her, where the photograph caught a glimpse of her face. And Syed knew right then who it was. The bloody color red, though not as bright as it was when he saw it, was easily distinguishable.
Syed heard a cat purr behind him. He thought of Dorian, although it was not his purr, so he turned around to pet it. He turned around to see the cat sitting on the floor, looking up at him. Before he could take a step, he realized who it was.
"Professor," Syed said.
The cat jumped up and changed shape into the headmaster. "Syed. Urgent matters have risen, and I need to take action as headmaster," McGonagall said, solemnly.
"No. I'm sorry Professor, but I demand answers. This regards MY family. I have the right to know. I've never known anything about them. I'm not doing anything until you tell me what the hell is going on," Syed said, aggressively.
McGonagall looked at Syed with a defeated look on her face, sighing. "Very well then. If it will satisfy you. I will reveal unto you the events that took place in 1999."
"You don't need to be so dramatic Professor-"
"Hush. Let me tell the story Syed. In 1998 as you know, Voldemort died. All his Death Eaters were either killed or put on trial. Except for the ones nobody knew existed. See, the Death Eaters had a department called the BBC, the Big Bad Cutthroats, meant to sabotage Muggle governments in order to gain control of different Muggle nations, attempting to rule the world."
"You mean like the American CIA?" Syed asked.
"..." McGonagall stared blankly.
"Nevermind go on," Syed rushed, nervous about the rest of the story.
"Well, the leader of this intelligence organization was named Pandora. Now Pandora was a notorious dark wizard who basically succeeded Voldemort. After Voldemort fell, she was next in line to keep the fight for the pure bloods alive. Her loyalty was like that of no other to Voldemort however. She became more gruesome once Voldemort was gone, getting deeper and deeper into the Dark Arts. Some say she had a family at one point, but she abandoned them. She has never actually been caught. Her reign of terror is yet to be vanquished. Nobody has been able to defeat her," She picked up the picture of the wicked lady. "You see, she has a weapon like no other of its kind. She has replaced her eye with a very powerful piece of magic that contains an unprecedented amount of power. Nobody knows all that it can do. But one thing is for certain, a wand is a secondary weapon for her. This magic is an ancient and very dark magic that is far more powerful than even a wand." She stared at the picture for a few seconds. Syed could see fear in her eyes, which prompted him to veer the story.
"Where do I come into this?"
She looked up, her eyes gleaming with light. "You, Syed. You are the one of the prophecy."
"What prophecy?"
"There was a prophecy revealed in 2005 that said that Pandora would eventually lose her power. That she would eventually be defeated. That prophecy was referring to you."
"Me?? But I'm just...me. I'm not special," Syed said, shocked.
"There was a famous Auror. Who went by the name of Duck. Obviously it wasn't her real name, but she didn't want to risk her family being exploited by dark wizards. She was Pandora's greatest enemy. Their rivalry was the greatest one that nobody has ever heard of. She was a great woman. A friend of mine actually. You, Syed. You were her son. And you were destined to defeat Pandora. So Pandora came after you, but unable to find you, she wreaked havoc on anyone she saw. She defeated your mother. And continued her search to find you. The problem is, she doesn't know what you look like. Someone alerted her that Duck's son was Moosa, so she attempted to kill him. Fortunately I detected it before she got to him. And had my own man take place of Moosa. He was a bit unconventional, but he did the job. "
"So that was your man? How come he was trying to take Dorian from me then?" Syed asked.
"Well-" McGonagall was interrupted by a painting on the wall. A beautiful lady spoke to McGonagall.
"I think it's time to tell him everything, Minerva," she said.
McGonagall hesitated, but she seemed as if she acquiesced. "Well. Let's take you back a little bit then, shall we?" McGonagall said as she walked over to a Pensive with Syed.
