CHAPTER 5
“That was torture,” I say when we finally get out of drama, “I hope we don’t get in those groups again or I will go insane.” Serena and Dean were the worst partners ever. They didn’t listen to each other at all so I ended up writing down my own ideas without even asking them because they were too busy fighting. At least I can finally go home. I don’t know how I’m going to deal with being here for a whole year. Hopefully Isobel and Kole can make it bearable as long as the necklace/tattoo thing doesn’t get crazy cause then it’ll get blown up and ugh I’m so not ready for that.
“Alice wait up” Pierce says once I walk towards Isobel’s car in the parking lot, “We seriously need to talk.” Ha yeah we sure do.
“Yeah about how you and your stupid jocks need to leave me and my friends alone. I get that you don’t like me okay?”
“Of course I like you Alice.” He says while running a hand through his long black hair, “It’s just...I mean...you see…” he trailed off and looked around the parking lot with his gorgeous light blue eyes. Wait, gorgeous? No, they aren’t gorgeous. They’re annoying. And stupid. And gorgeous. Ugh what’s wrong with me.
“You don’t have to explain anything to me. Just please leave me alone.” I honestly don’t want to listen to why he hates me.
“Look I met Andrew at the mall and he basically took me in and we hung out and we’re bros now.”
“Ok and I want to know that why? You’re just like them.” Running a hand through my dirty blonde hair, I wonder why he’s even bothering talking to me.
“No I’m not! Honestly I’m the sweet guy you met at the mall. I mean if I acted like that here, I’d get made fun of.” Wait, so it’s all an act!? So is he like a schizophrenic or something?
“Oh what get made fun of like me and my friends? Just be yourself because eventually those stupid jocks will figure it out and you already know how badly they treat people.”
“Look,” he says looking straight into my dark blue eyes, “I’m a new person here and I don’t want to be known as the loner. I’ve dealt with that at my other schools and I’m not about to do it again. I promise I’m the sweet guy you met at the mall.”
“How am I supposed to believe that?” What, it’s a valid question.
“Well,” he says while walking closer to me, “Look in my eyes and tell me if you think I’m lying.”
The instant he gets closer to me, I stare into his gorgeous blue eyes. Everything he’s been saying is all in his eyes. There’s no doubt that he meant every word he said.
“Believe me now?” he says while inches away from my face.
“Yup.” For lack of other words that’s all I could come up with.
The instant he looks down at my lips, I know I have to get out of here before I do something I’ll regret.
“Yeah,” I say while backing up, “I gotta go cause Isobel’s been waiting so yeah.” I’m not about to put myself through the torture of kissing him. Believe me, I want to but the second the jocks come around he’ll make it seem like I was all over him.
“What took you so long,” Isobel says while flipping her long brown hair over her shoulder.
“Ran into Pierce. He said he’s not a jock but tired of being a loner. He was telling the truth cause I looked into his eyes and there was no way he was lying.” I’m not about to leave her out of this. That would be even worse to try to deal with this on my own.
