CHAPTER 7

(Kole’s POV)

I still can’t believe this is happening. If a few months ago someone told me Isobel is my soulmate, I would’ve punched them and checked them into an insane asylum. But look where I am now!!

“What happened,” I say once I see Alice run out of the auditorium, “Is she okay?” The guilty look on Isobel’s face tells me she had something to do with it.

“I was joking around about Pierce. Guess it’s kind of early to try to make a joke of it. I don’t get why he can’t just be himself. Guys that pretend to be someone else are really stupid.” Dang. I asked what was wrong, not a lecture. But oh well.

“Well it’s his loss for being an idiot. I’m sure she’ll forgive you eventually. You are best friends and I know that she wouldn’t throw away a friendship as good as yours for something stupid.” Yeah after being friends with them for a while I know how to stop them freaking out.

“Thanks Kole,” she says while playing with my hair, “What would I do without you?”

“Well,” I say while staring into her gorgeous eyes, “You’d be really emotionally unstable and probably insane. But don’t worry, I’m here. Always have been and always will be.” Dang I’m good.

“Aww,” she says while giving me a small peck on the cheek, “Who knew you had a soft side? Glad I get to witness this side of you. I really like it.” Ugh now she’s gonna be all mushy with me. Crap.

I cupped her face in my hand and kissed her soft lips. "Who knew" I say resting my forehead against hers and looking into her eyes.

"Okay" Ms. Rivera says from the stage. "Everybody get into a group of two, preferrably one guy and one girl, and come up on stage.”

Finally this teacher is good for something.

“Ok so everyone take a script. You’re going to be reading through a scene in Romeo and Juliet. Just for practice so you know how to read Shakespeare.” Ugh why this stupid play. I mean, a 13 year old girl and 17 year old killing themselves and they hardly know each other? Anyone who thinks this is a good story is very stupid.

“Really,” Isobel says with a groan from beside me, “I like Shakespeare and I don’t hate this play, but for real they are too young to be like ‘Oh my gosh I know we just met, but I’m in love with you let’s get married’” Exactly what I was thinking.

“I know right,” I say while grabbing her hand, “Plus, she’s only thirteen and he is seventeen, that’s one year from a freaking lawsuit.” I say with a laugh.

“Exactly,” she says, “But I guess we are sort of similar to the story; you know considering we just found out about this whole soulmate thing and we are already all over each other.” She says pursing her lips.

“Izzy,” I say lifting her chin to look into her eyes. “I’m glad we’re together. It just sucks that it took us so long to figure out that we had feelings for each other.”

“I don’t get how this works,” she says with a small laugh. “I mean, we didn’t even think of each other like this yesterday and then come today we are head over heels.”

“Yea, it’s pretty crazy.” To think that we were best friends yesterday and now we are soul mates. How?

“What was your first thought when your mom told you?” Crap I was hoping she wouldn’t ask that.

“I was completely against the idea of being with you.” I say looking down at my feet. There’s really no point in lying to her.

Her expression fell into a frown and she nodded. “I’m going to go get some water.” She says and begins to walk away.

“I’m sorry babe,” I say while wrapping her in a tight hug. “I just didn’t think that  we would work  at first, but now I can’t see myself with anybody else. Let’s just put it behind us because all that matters is right now.”

“Sounds great to me" she says with a smile and plants a small kiss on my lips.

"Ok so let's get started" I say flipping through the script. "Looks like we are doing the balcony scene"

"Sweet, that's the only scene I really like" Isobel says looking down at the writing. I just can't get over how beautiful she is. How did I not realize this before?

*~15 minutes later~*

“Okay class,” Ms. Rivera says while looking at her clipboard, “Time perform these for the class. Don’t be nervous, it’s not a quiz or test grade. I just want to see what level of acting you guys are at. Just have fun with it! Up first is Dean and Lisa.” Thank god I didn’t have to go first. I would have freaked. Sure Isobel would be there for me, but I still have a little bit of stage fright.

“Wow,” Isobel says while flipping her long brown hair over her shoulder in the middle of Dean’s line, “He is a terrible actor. I don’t know how he’s even in this class.” Dang. Didn’t know she could be so rude. Oh wait, yeah I did.

“Yeah, he’s not the best. But I doubt he’s gonna stay in this class cause if he did, Andrew would make fun of him.” I can’t stand the jocks. Not just because they make fun of Isobel and Alice, but because they constantly make fun of everyone, are really stupid, do steroids, party every weekend, and a lot more.

“I can see it now,” Isobel says while staring at me with her gorgeous eyes, “Dude, why are you in a class with a bunch of nerds. Theatre is stupid. Football and partying is the only thing that matters in this world.” Wow. Her mock voice of Andrew is pretty spot on.

“That was creepily good babe,” I say while grabbing her hand, “But stick to your regular gorgeous voice.” Yeah I had a sweet moment. Get over it.

“You ready to go up there,” she says once another group starts performing, “I’m kinda nervous but at least you’ll be up there with me.”

“Same here babe. Good luck, not that you need it.”

“Gosh,” she says while leaning her head against my arm, “You’re being really sweet. I like this side of you.” Ugh please don’t start getting all mushy with me. Sure it’s nice but it gets annoying after awhile.

“Hey losers,” Andrew says sitting beside me, “Can you not be all over each other? It’s really gross.”

“Get over yourself Andrew. Just because you’re jealous that you don’t have a girl who likes you for any other reason besides your dick doesn’t mean that you can make fun of me and my girlfriend.” I’m not about to let him diss me and Isobel. That’s not going to happen.

“Whatever losers,” and with that he flips his hair and heads out of the auditorium. This is the point where I wish Ms. Rivera would give a damn about her students leaving but oh well.

5 minutes pass and luckily Isobel and I haven’t been called up to perform. As I was leaning down to kiss Isobel on the cheek, I see Andrew walk back in looking very pissed off. Yeesh what could’ve happened on the way to the bathroom? Speaking of the bathroom, where did Alice run off to? And why hasn’t she come back? Ok now I’m freaking myself out.
