Chapter 52

Utau’s POV

My eyes flip open, understanding written on my face.

“You were the one that killed half of our clan all those years ago.” I whisper. “You were the one that had to be contained and drained of your power.”

“Everything Shizuka told me is true isn’t it?”

I sit up in the small bed, glaring at my brother.

“If this is true then what was her “plan?” I ask suspiciously.

“I never found out the whole thing but from what I did discern I know she was like a puppeteer and the rest of the world was her puppet, even father was her ignorant puppet. Nothing happened without her knowing or her consent. It wasn’t just our clan either. She lived to create chaos, death, and destruction in the world. She loved nothing but the power she had. You see, I had to bring her down! If I hadn’t the world would be over as we know it. I know that seems unbelievable but it’s all true. I swear on our grandmother’s grave that it is all completely true.” Shizuka says, his eyes pleading with me to believe him.

“You never really loved me did you?” I ask, my voice growing louder.

She smirks.

“Not really. If it were up to me I would have killed you long ago but Amaya felt it necessary to keep you alive.”

I blink back tears, her words like a dagger in my heart.

My mother had been the one person I had always loved unconditionally.

“But I think it’s time for you to ‘retire’.” She smirks again and steps closer.

“You have orchestrated every event that has happened in this world haven’t you?” I ask harshly.

She only laughs.

“You didn’t think it a coincidence that you met your red-headed friend’s father on that one mission do you?

“What about his death? That surely was a coincidence.”

I narrow my eyes.

“Oh, what about the fact that your ‘friend’ was accused of something you did? That one was fun to orchestrate!” She says cheerily.

“And we can’t forget when you met the two Akastuki traitors, Nikkou and Kagem.”

She leans forward with a wide grin on her face.

“Every little detail of your life was all planned out by me. Everything that ever happened was because of me.

“Obito Uchiha.” She breathes, her eyes wide with her own sick twisted kind of admiration.

“He was a genius. As was Madera.”

I shake my head in disbelief.

“They had the right idea. This world needs to be cleansed of all its sins.”

She rubs her hands together excitedly.

“Starting with you, my sweet!”

My face hardens as I slide my katana out of its holster, my free hand gripping the necklace resting delicately on my collarbone.

“Very well Mother. I am beginning to understand why Shizuka wanted to kill you so badly. It’s really too bad he won’t be here to see your last breath.”

She smirks.

“Yes, I am sure he would have loved to see his beloved sister die.”

She leaps backwards, her hands flying too fast for the human eye to see.
