"You wanted to see me Professor Ozpin?" I asked innocently.
"Yes," he said, beckoning to the chair beside me, "now please. Sit."
I nod and sit obediently. I respected Ozpin, and would do anything for him, no matter how hard the task. It was all I could do to make up for all the things coming his way.
"Now, Kennith," he said simply, "what is your favorite fairy tale?"
My heart stopped as I remembered the talk he had had with Pyrrah. I automatically realized his intentions. I stood up involuntary, and he gave me an odd look, before noticing the panicked look on my face.
"Kennith?" he asked, standing up as well, "are you well?"
I nodded, feeling my face go pale, "Please, Professor Ozpin," I say, putting as much respect as I could into the words, "I know of the four maidens, and I know that one has been hurt. But please. I wish to have no part in this."
Ozpin's mouth fell open slightly, but I continued. "If you want your guardian, I suggest Pyrrah Niccos, as she will soon be joining us, correct?" I felt tears threaten me as realized that I was sealing Pyrrah's fate to die. I was securing the position of broken hearts soon to come. I was making everything happen.
Ozpin nodded slowly, "Al... alright than, Kennidith," he said slowly, "I have some things I must inform the others of. Now.. if you would please..." he beckoned to the door, and I nodded, quicky making my way out. Tears automatically threatened me and I broke into a run down the hall, not caring about being heard. I just wanted to get out of here.
Down the hall, I ran into Alex. "Ken, you okay?" she asked, tilting her head, letting her wolf ears droop slightly. When we had entered this world, some of us had become fonuses. Alex was a wolf, Karmaa was a fox, and Septimus was a deer.
I shook my head, "Ozpin just asked me about the four maidens. I... I think he wanted to make me the next fall maiden," I cried, and she surrounded me in a hug.
"It's alright, Kennith," she said, "we'll figure this out."
I gave her a light smile, and nodded my head, "'Kay," I said, flicking her wolf ear.
"WOLFIE!!!!"
I felt Karmaa ram her self into us, hugging both of us to death as we fell to the ground.
"I HEARD TEARS!!!" she yelled, "WHERE ARE THEY?!?!"
I laughed as Alex spoke up, "It's about the four maidens, Foxie," she said, patting Karmaa's ears. They called each other that. Wolfie and Foxie.
"Oh," her expression darkened for a moment, then returned to normal, "but it will be fine! You'll see! We'll kill that creep in her sleep or something, then we'll all be happy!!"
I rolled my eyes, thankful for her optimism, but still doubting that it would all be fine.
I had a feeling that one of us was going to die soon.
