Chapter 9

After that, I took Lucy home and I drove back to the garage. I parked my car off to the side of my work space in its usual spot. I walked into my house and flopped down on my bed.

"What did I just do?....." I asked myself, confused. "I've never said "I love you" to anyone! It's not like I didn't mean it... it's just never happened..." I argued with myself.

No matter what I did, I couldn't get "her" off of my mind. Just as I was about to go to sleep, I heard a knock on the door. I got up and headed over that way. A delivery man was waiting at the door with a clipboard and a pen. "Hello, you're Natsu Dragneel, correct?" Hey asked

"Yes, that's me." I said absentmindedly, distracted by the very large cargo truck that attempted to park in my driveway.

"Well have a package for you. Sign here please." The man said holding out the clipboard.

"So, it's finally here, huh?" I said to myself as I signed the paper. I saw the workers move a big black box with a red top close to the garage.

I handed the clipboard back to the man. "It's been a pleasure." He said as he shook my hand. "Obviously he got paid a fortune for this delivery, but this order DID take up most of my life savings. This better be better than I'm expecting...." I said to myself.

I picked up my phone and scrolled to Gajeel. "Hey, rivet face. Get down here, I wanna show you something!"

(Time skip)

"Done!" I exclaimed in accomplishment. I looked out of the garage door from where I was standing. It was pitch black outside, but I could see a faint black figure... just standing there... I hid for a moment and grabbed my switch blade from my pocket and reached for my gun out of the bottom shelf of my tool box. It was fully loaded in case of emergencies.

I dove out from my hiding place and pointed the gun at the person.

Gajeel did the most pathetic dive I've ever seen. He tried to tuck and roll to get out of the way, but ended up flopping on the concrete like a dying fish. "Shit bro, it's me! It's me!!" He exclaimed.

"Gajeel, you scared the shit out of me!" I snapped as I turned the safety on my gun and pulled the trigger to uncock it.

"You're a psychopath! Like a switchblade and your speed wasn't enough! Now who in their right mind gave you a modified 9mm with a laser scope, a flashlight, and an extended mag?!" He flipped out

"Calm down bro! The less you know, the better, what the hell're you doing here anyways?" I asked

He crossed his arms. "You asked me to come down here, dumbass!"

"Oh... right..." I replied.

He rolled his eyes and looked past me into the garage. "I'm assuming you wanted to show me 'that'?"

"Yeah, just finished her up, come take a look at this." I lead him into the garage to show him what was in the box.

"Woah... now that's a serious upgrade!" He said in shock.

"Puts out serious power too!" I told him.

"No damn way... Is it.... gold plated?!" He asked in astonishment.

"20 karat gold plated. It's mixed with some other metal to prevent it from melting." I told him.

"The thing gets that hot?" He asked.

"It's shouldn't, but it's better to safe than sorry... and dripping gold. Then you'd be REALLY sorry." I joked.

"I can't believe how it turned out man." Gajeel smiled.

"What do you expect?! It was me who worked on it!" I boasted.

"Geehee, I'm surprised it didn't fall apart if that's the case." He laughed.

"I'd like to see you build something even half as great as this. That would be entertaining." I came back.

"I work in a junk yard, you asshole. What do you think I'm gonna be building?" He laughed.

"Ha, not your IQ, that'd for damn sure." I joked.

"Shut up man, I don't skip school." He said.

"Cause you couldn't afford to miss anything. Besides, I skip because it's boring, I'm acing every class, and I can get away with it." I told him.

"Whatever man, I gotta get going. I got school tomorrow." He said before leaving to his car.

I watched him get into his car. He rolled down the windows and his music blared. He floored it and spun the tires. He fishtailed and took off into the night.
