I thought our stars were well allined
a constellation, firm and strong
the moment our stars were found
I believed that nothing could go wrong
the days, and months, and years rode by
through storms and fires, the cold and dark
our gleam never failed to shine the night
the land we crossed bore our mark
how stupid was I to think that
we were sowing joy and life
when in truth, we only sowed
chaos, death and strife
you never saw me the way I saw you
I built my life upon lies and lies
your star was merely a snow-white smudge
staining the pure black sky
