Alexis talked on the phone with Elizabeth, telling her the news about the flat. She still couldn't believe that the owner had changed her mind about kicking her out of the apartment.
Her friend went completely hysterical with the news and Alexis had to keep the phone from her ear almost all conversation. When they ended the call, Alexis decided that, since she had some time till dinner, she could study a bit.
Opening her notebook, she found the draw she had done during the morning class there, staring at her with a blank expression. Never better said.
For some seconds, disappointment crossed her mind, till she shook her head, placing the ideas back in place.
"No... You don't wish to have someone like that by your side. A piece of art is great to look at, but sometimes, they cannot match with certain furniture, so we cannot have it at our home." She told herself, shaking her head.
Grabbing the paper with the unnatural gorgeous draw man, Alexis placed it on a small board, that she had in one of the green walls of her room, along with some pushpins.
Somehow from looking at the draw, it seemed more alive, more real.
"Don't wish what you cannot have." Alexis told herself. She thought about her parents. They had been always amazing to her, always supporting her dreams and always there when she had needed their help. Now they were on vacation through Europe.
They deserved it. They had worked hard all their lives and now, when they had some weeks of holiday, they would pack their bags and travel the world.
When Alexis went to bed that night, she stayed awake for some time, staring in the dark at the ceiling trying to figure it out why the owner of the apartment had changed her mind. It was strange. That woman was like Donald Duck's uncle, always attached to her money.
Her thoughts traveled to the old lady in the park. She hoped the woman had somewhere to shelter over the night.
Putting aside that troubled thought, Alexis closed her eyes and let herself drift to sleep.
Her heavenly dreams didn't last long. The sound of something falling to the ground, made Alexis open her eyes quickly, her head protesting against the unwelcome noise. She turned on the light and yelped at the figure that was near her desk. It was completely white as a ghost. She jumped immediately out of bed, running to catch her tennis racket that was near the wardrobe. She hadn't played for long, but she didn't need practice with playing now. She loved the racket, but she wouldn't hesitate to hit the thing with it if she needed.
"Who... Who the fuck are you?" She asked, her hands holding her improvised weapon in front of her. She was trembling slightly, but her eyes were steady on the man, ghost or whatever was in her room.
He turned to her slowly, as if he had just noticed her there. His gaze traveled from Alexi's head to her toes. She was dressed in red shorts and an old black t-shirt that had 'Metallica' written in the front.
He opened his mouth to talk, but he didn't say a word. The sound that came from his luscious lips was half a growl, half a laugh. He had a deep voice, making Alexi's legs weak out of a sudden.
The man pointed to the board on the wall and Alexis, even when she didn't like the idea of taking her eyes out of the guy even for some seconds, turned her head to see what he was trying to say. Her mouth dropped open in shock. The draw that she had made that morning wasn't there. Well, the paper sheet was there, but all white.
"This isn't happening. It's not possible! This has to be a dream." She told herself, but she knew too well that she was awake. Her moment of distraction, caused the man to approach without Alexis realized.
