Alexis tried to delay the purchase of a hair clipper for days. She could see that Casper was eager to have the thing and start working at his appearance, but she was not ready to touch him so intimately. He would notice her attraction to him, he would question her and, ultimately, he would leave.

At the end of the fifth day after she had promised him to buy the machine, she decided that she was being egoistic. He wanted to appear more human and she was suppose to help him, not making his life more miserable and complicated. He wanted to explore the world and she was just destroying his dream.

Her conscious was the one responsible for Alexis's search of a cheap shop that sell all kind of electronic equipment. From fridges to stoves, from microwaves to televisions, she walked the different paths of the shop searching the one product that could help Casper. When she found the right section, Alexis stopped and studied for some minutes the prices and characteristics of the different brands.

In the end, she searched inside her pocket and counted the money left on her wallet. It wasn't much, so the only available choice was the cheapest one.

Alexis grabbed the new gift she would give Casper and walked to the cashier to pay. After getting outside and to the busy streets, her feet took her home.

Casper was in the kitchen and the smell coming from there filled her nose and made her stomach growl in hunger. He should try to follow a culinary career, she thought, walking to where he was standing.

"Hi Casper! How was your day?" She asked, trying to make some conversation. Lately he was becoming more skittish, probably because he passed too much time inside the house. Guilt filled her up.

Casper turned to her and smiled. She could see that he was not so happy, but he didn't want her to realize that.

"Hey!! Great!! I'm trying a new recipe I saw on television. I hope you like it." He said. Casper walked to her and planted a kiss on her forehead. The gesture made her shiver and he looked at her more intently.

Before Alexis had time to ask why Casper had given her that strange kiss, he explained himself. He was already used to her questioning stare.

"Sheila from the TV does that to her friends."

Who the hell is Sheila? Alexis asked herself, her heart stop some seconds by a strange sense of jealousy. In the end, she brushed the question away. Whoever was, was on the TV. It wasn't a sexy neighbor that had decided to ring their bell and ask for milk. So... Not a threat...

Deciding that it was time to tell Casper about the hair clipper, Alexis took the small electronic device from her purse.
Casper stood quiet looking at it.

"This is the machine to cut your hair." Alexis explained.
The smile that whipped his serious expression filled her with relief. She didn't like the idea of Casper being mad or disappointed at her.

"After dinner, I will help you cut your amazing mane." Alexis told him and moved to set the table.

Apparently Casper had learned how to cook lamb with red fruits and potatoes in the oven. The smell of his masterpiece was mouthwatering and for some moments Alexis was afraid he would bring some sexy woman neighbor to her door. She knew that the thought was ridiculous, but she couldn't control the sense of possessiveness that was growing inside her.

They ate and talked about their day. A moment like that, had become their ritual during the evenings.

After dinner, they cleaned the table and washed the dishes together. Alexis knew what Casper wished to do after everything was clean, so she guided him to the bathroom and made him sit on a small plastic chair. His body barely fit there and she chuckled in amusement.
