Maxwell smiled at his friends, they all meant something to him one way or another, they had been through everything together: preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and now they're going to go through high school together.
"So what was taking you so long Maxy?" Valentine put a hand on her hip.
"Maxy-Boy was busy being a little mama's boy and giving his mommy goodbye kisses!" Gavin teased then stuck out his tongue.
Maxwell rolled his and gave a smug look to his friend.
"Look who's talking," Maxwell said, "you were the one who was crying for his mommy the first day of middle school."
Gavin let out a low growl. If there was one thing that he didn't like about Maxwell it was the fact that he had the had the most amazing memory ever, Maxwell could probably remember the day he was born if he tried hard enough.
"Shut up dude," Gavin playfully punched him in the arm, "I may have cried for my mom, but I didn't pee my pant!"
Gavin leaned his face closer to Maxwell, Maxwell continued rubbing his arm. Once he notice Gavin getting close to his face he pushed him away which caused him to fall on the ground, they had both laughed. Valentine looked at her phone and her eyes went wide with panic and she turned towards her friends.
"Guys we have to go!" Valentine said.
"What's wrong girl." Cece was floating above her cousin Maxwell who was helping Gavin off the ground after pushing him.
"I just checked the time," Valentine said showing them her phone, "we have 25 minutes to get to school before it gets too crowded."
"Oh sh*t girl, you're right, we gotta go guys." Gabe said.
Gavin straightened his bow tie and followed them down Maxwell's driveway and into the city of Safe Haven. The city was very active for being this early. Truck unloading boxes, crates and bags so that store owners could restock the shelves as well as in the back of the stores. They walk towards a mechanic shop were a man well dressed who was holding a dark brown leather brief case was giving a yellow dog wearing a dark blue jumpsuit with a few oil stains on it a kiss.
"Hi Mr. Seasons, Hi Mr. Hill!" Valentine waved.
Autumn and Rusty looked over to see the group of teenagers waving at them as they were walking towards the mechanic shop.
"Hello Valentine, Cece, boys," Autumn smiled and waved back at them, "I was just on my way to drop Fawn and Rocky off at the high school before I went to work, Fawn's been looking forward to the first day of high school since she was given the tour last year."
"That reminds me," Rusty headed towards a stair case in the mechanic shop, "Fawn, Rocky it's time to go your father is getting ready to go to work and he's taking you to school today!"
"Coming Dad!" Fawn and Rocky both said.
Fawn came down the stairs first and then Rocky came downstairs only a few minutes after his sister did.
"You ready to go?" Autumn asked as Rusty kissed his cheek.
"Yes Daddy I am!" Fawn smiled brightly.
"Yeah," Rocky rolled his eyes, "I guess I'm ready to go too Poppa."
Fawn got into the passenger seat of her father's car and Rocky sat in the seat behind his dad. Autumn got into the a drove off. The group waved goodbye to Rusty and continued walking. Gavin looked the time it was 7 AM.
"Guys we need to burry we have only 10 minutes left before it gets way to crowded!" Gavin was starting to panic.
"Don't worry Gavin," Valentine said, "we're only 5 minutes away from the school so we'll have plenty of time to chat before the school grounds get over crowded with students."
