In the middle of the night both Hal and Naytan made their way to a house on the second level of the city. The house was similar to all the other houses on the second level. Brick walls, wooden roofs with straw over them, windows as clear as the night sky and on the inside were two small twin beds and a small wooden table. In the foyer of the home was a bronze chandelier and a blue oval shaped carpet in the middle of the room. Hal walked in first and guided Naytan through the home. The two walked into a small bedroom with a desk on the left side of the bed. Naytan sat down on the bed as stood to look at his nephew. "When did you get this place"? Naytan asked. "Pensen increased my pay, so now I was able to afford a house on the second level". Hal explained. "It's nice". Naytan replied. "Enough of that, please tell me everything". Hal mentioned with curiosity in his voice. "I joined the Concrete Pitt and some people came here and I joined them when the soldiers came and destroyed it. We fell to the bottom of the pit and made our way out. We then headed for Pol for a nights sleep. The next day we made our way here". Naytan explained. "But why, why here, why did you come to see me"? Hal asked. "Well, uncle see that's the difficult part to tell you". Naytan replied. Hal looked even more interested in what Naytan was to say next. "You see, the people that came, one was a ranger looking to stop the outbreak of Under Slugs, and he came to concrete pitt with this other guy, and two others. We both made our way out of that place and went to Pol. We spent the night there and". Naytan said looking almost ashamed to even look at Hal. "Then what"? Hal asked. Naytan then looked out the window only to see an empty street with no guards patrolling. "Oh no, Naytan". Hal said worriedly. "Tell me you didn't". Hal said. "The next day we met the High Ranks, one of my new friends kinda started a fight with them, which resulted in a battle to free Pol". Naytan explained. "Oh Naytan, why, why did you do this"? Hal asked filled with disappointment. "Wait there's more. You see, we then headed for Archvil, once we started paying more attention to the rumors of Pensen wishing to summon an Under Lord, so now we're here to stop him". Naytan said shamefully. Hal stood there with his mouth gaping open. "But". Hal said before getting cut off by Naytan. "That was the main reason I came to the palace, I went looking for you so I could infiltrate one of those late night meetings you would go to all the time when you were raising me. Now I'm afraid that, I now know the truth, all of it, what you went to do, what you stood for, what this was all about, I'm sorry Uncle". Naytan explained. Hal still looked amazed by Naytan's story. "(Sigh) Naytan, I raised you better then this, why would you betray Archvil, or even worse your family"? Hal asked. "Because you raised me to fear the Under Lords, not to worship them, now I know that's what you've been doing all this time. Now I'm left with no choice but to stop you and Pensen". Naytan said. "(Sigh) Where are the others, like Pensen said. I'm assuming their with you, so you must know where their going to be searching". Hal said. "I'm sorry, I wont compromise this plan". Naytan said. "Naytan, there is a major reason I'm a part of this. Pensen's rule has been harsh, I know that, but he's only human. There is no such thing as the perfect human. Pensen's plan is righteous, his motives are thoughtful. Please don't interfere anymore please trust me, I'm your family". Hal begged. Naytan's expression changed to a pondering one. "You seem like you need some time to think this over. Why don't you sleep here tonight, and tell me your answer in the morning". Hal said. Naytan nodded with a tear going down his left eye. "Don't fret nephew, this is for a good cause. I would never lie to you, Pensen's a good man. Good night son". Hal said as he walked out of the room. Naytan turned over and went to sleep.
The next day at the inn, Melat, Felren, Array and Vekliv woke up at seven o clock on the dot. Felren woke up quickly in a panic. He got up and put on his brown boots and frantically clapped his hands waking the rest up. "COME ON COME ON WAKE UP HURRY WE'RE LOSING DAYLIGHT HERE". Felren said. The rest of the group got up cranky and drowsy as they moaned with misery at the thought of waking up early. "Come on we gotta go". Felren said. "Melat come on". Felren ordered. "I'm coming". Melat said half asleep still laying down as he rolled off the bed and face first onto the floor. The room woke up a little bit more after chuckling at Melat's fall.
The group got up and walked out of the inn. "Okay we all know the plan right"? Felren asked. Melat and Felren continued to walk toward the prison and barracks of Archvil as Vekliva and Array walked up the stairs to the second level.
Both Vekliv and Array walked up the stairs as they looked at each other. "I'll check the west side of this level, you check the east". Array said pointing in both directions. Vekliv nodded as the two separated.
Array past a few suspicious figures wearing brown cloaks such as hers as one looked at her. "Hey you there are you one of us". A man in a brown cloak said putting his hand on Array's shoulder for her attention. "What no, I'm just with my group". Array said suspicious of the man's attitude. "Well we saw you with another brown cloak so we assumed you two were just members we haven't seen before". The brown cloak with a red stripe in his hair said. Soon the one with brown hair spoke. "Well we also saw a younger brown cloak last night going to the palace, but nothing happened. How do we know the guards don't know about our plans yet"? The brown haired one asked the red haired one. "No look please, I hate Archvil, I'm (whispers) I'm actually against them, I have four other people here, please we're from Pol, they gave us these cloaks we're trying to take down Pensen". Array whispered quieter then the other two. "Oh well, if your not already familiar with our plan then follow us we'll fill you in. The red haired one said. The two started walking away as Array followed.
Vekliv walking through the busy streets of Arcvhil noticed a group of three brown cloaks walking towards a white marble statue of Emperor Pensen standing over a pile of dead peasants with two marble statues of cloaked figures, one holding a large curved sword and the other with his hand placed on Pensen's shoulder. The statue had a cloak as well and both cloaked statues had halos over their heads. The brown cloaks walked over to the statues as they all looked at each other in suspicion. The one in middle pulled out what looked like a God shard. It was an orange god shard as he rubbed it on his hands as he passed it to the other who rubbed It on his hands who passed to the other. Soon they all had orange auras around them.
Back on the first level Felren approached the barracks. A slanted stone building leading into the wall of the city. There were two guards with muskets guarding it. Felren knew he couldn't get into the place and live. He checked inside his satchel for an invisibility shard. He didn't find one. "Damn it". Felren muttered as he started pacing around the city streets waiting for something to happen.
Melat approached the prison. The prison was lied against the city wall and had guards circling it heavily. He took off his brown cloak and placed it behind a barrel slightly exposed so he could find it later. He approached the guard at the front of the prison gate. The building was a large wall inside the city and was exposed to the sky with a large courtyard with gallows and a guillotine and a firing range. However Melat saw through the gate a stairway leading underground. He walked over to the gate. "Halt state your intentions here". The guard ordered. "Uh are there visiting hours here"? Melat asked. "Why uh yes son, who do you wish to see"? The guard asked. Melat looked to the stairs and looked back at the guard. "Someone who I haven't seen so long that I don't even know his name". Melat said. The guard opened the gate and let Melat in. "Just go down the stairs and find who your looking for, don't try anything, we got guards all over the place in there". The guard warned. Melat nodded. He walked in the prison and walked down the stairs. He was later underground and reached the bottom of the staircase. He saw before him an endless row of stone prison cells with metal bars. At the very end another staircase. Melat walked through the hallway of prisoners with guards patrolling the hallway.
Melat thought back to a memory of his mother who spoke to him. "Your father, hehe. He had very black hair. He was quite the skinny one though, though he's probably emaciated now that he's in jail. He's probably now got a long black beard down to his chest. But the most obvious thing about him was the tattoo on his bare chest. The scars in the shape of a devil like creature with an X marking through it". Melat remembered.
Melat reached the staircase leading further down. He went down and saw a cell with exactly what his mother told him of. The man was emaciated and all skin and bones. His hair was a mix of black and grey. He was shirtless exposing the tattoo of a devil creature crossed out. He saw him and stared him in the eyes as the man looked back in awe. The man began crying tears of both sadness and joy. "(Sniffles), Melat, I haven't seen you since you were a baby". Melat's father said. Melat's disappointed expression didn't change. "But I know it's you, hehe, who else would come to see me. But I know its you, my son". Melat's dad said with a joyful smile on his face.
