*SIX MONTHS AGO*

"You can't just get rid of me like I'm a piece of garbage!" Holly yelled at her Aunt Mildra, storming upstairs to her room.

"I'm not trying to get rid of you!" Aunt Mildra shouted, following Holly.

As soon as Holly entered her bedroom, she gasped at the empty space. All of her things had been packed away in cardboard boxes which were piled up in the corner of the room, except of course, her bed. Fuming, Holly turned around to her Aunt, fists tightly curled in balls.

"You packed away my things," Holly said, angrily gritting her teeth.

Aunt Mildra let out a loud sigh and walked past Holly, taking a seat of the edge of Holly's wooden bed.

"You know I don't want to do this."

"Then don't!" Holly exclaimed.

"I don't have a choice anymore, Holly. Your mother was very clear about getting you a good college education and you just throw it all away! Do you even try?"

"Leave my mother out of this."

"I'm sorry, Holly. I just don't know what to do with you anymore. You failed your last year of high school and then I manage to get you into a good college you fail your first semester there too when you know that you needed a scholarship. I can't afford anything right now, especially since my money will be wasted."

Holly let out a deep breath. Truth was, she had tried. College was hard and even though she hated to admit it, Holly was not good at committing to things. But Aunt Mildra had taken this to a whole new level! Sending Holly away just because she got kicked out of college? Holly saw no reason in that.

"Where exactly am I going?" Holly asked quietly.

"England," Aunt Mildra replied, equally as quiet.

"What?! You're sending me to England?"

"Yes, Holly. What is wrong with England?"

"Oh nothing," Holly said sarcastically. "Besides the fact that it's on the other side of the fucking world!"

"Don't curse at me young lady," Aunt Mildra scolded.

Holly just rolled her eyes and continued. "What will I be doing in England may I ask? Please, enlighten me."

"I have signed you up at a military camp just outside of Bradford."

"A military camp? What the hell were you thinking?"

"I was thinking of you, dear."

"Clearly you weren't. If you were, you would have never booked a flight to England! Has it ever occurred to you that my life is here in Florida? Did it ever cross your mind that all my friends are here?" Holly shouted, waving her hands in the air.

"I'm sorry Holls, what's done is done. Maybe one day you will thank me for this.”

"I highly doubt it."

Holly ran her fingers through her long brown waves as a wave of realization rolled over her. She knew her Aunt wouldn't budge and she really was going to move to England for god knows how long. Then an idea popped into her mind. If Holly was good and succeeded her first month or so at the camp, maybe her Aunt would let her come home! Still, she didn't like the idea of spending her next few weeks in England, let alone months at a military camp.

"Come here, love," Aunt Mildra said, patting the spare space on the bed next to her.

Holly mumbled protests under her breath but sat down anyway. Aunt Mildra pulled her niece into a hug, hoping Holly would forgive her soon enough. After all, it was for her own good.

"I'm sorry, Holly."

"Its fine," Holly said, even though they both knew it wasn't.

They pulled away from the hug and Holly stood up, getting out her mobile phone and dialing her best friend’s number.

"Who are you calling?"

"Taylor. I need to tell someone the exciting news."

She heard her Aunt sigh at the sarcastic comment as Holly walked down the hallway, locking herself in the bathroom.

"Holly!"

"Hey, Tay," Holly greeted sadly.

"What's up?"

"Well, I have some news."

"You seem upset. Tell me!"

"I'm moving to England."

There was no noise from Taylor's end of the phone and this made Holly even more anxious.

"Tay? Taylor, say something," Holly begged.

"Why?" came Taylor's small voice.

"I failed my first semester of college and according to my Aunt that means I have to go to some dumb military camp."

"When are you leaving?"

"I'm not sure actually... but my Aunt had packed for me so I'm guessing soon."

"So that's it? I'm never going to see you again?"

"No... I'm sure I will be able to visit soon," Holly replied, trying to convince herself as well as her best friend.

"You said you're going to a military camp?"

"Yep," Holly sighed, sitting down on the cool floor and leaning against the bath.

"Ha!" Taylor laughed. "Call me back in a week and tell me how that goes."

"Don't be like that."

"No, Holly. The Holly I know would scream and cry and do anything she possibly could to stop it from happening! Instead, you call me sounding calm and happy with the fact that you are moving halfway across the world!"

"I can't cry because that's just going to make my Aunt try to comfort me and I don't want that. I could scream but I will lose my voice and I am trying to stop this from happening but my Aunt has made her decision. I'm sorry Tay."

There was another long pause before Holly heard Taylor let out a long sigh.

"I'll miss you, Holls."

"I'll miss you too."

"Call me when you're there?"

"Definitely."

Suddenly, Aunt Mildra began banging her fists on the bathroom door, telling Holly to come out.

"I'm guessing you have to go...” Taylor said slowly, hearing the knocks.

"Yeah, well I'll call you when I get there."

"Alright. Be careful and remember I love you."

"I love you too, Tay. Bye!"

"Bye Holls."

Holly hung up the phone and let a tear slide down her cheek. She wasn't even aware she was crying until now. Holly didn’t want to move to England. She had uprooted her life one too many times already and she was not willing to do it again. And the truth was, not only was Holly dreading England, she was also scared of the unknown.
